Lil Wayne has been confirmed as a performer with Chris Brown and David Guetta for the dance segment part at the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards, which will broadcast live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 12th at 8PM EST. If Weezy, Brown and Guetta are all performing together, then I would guess they will be performing either “I Can Only Imagine” or “Look At Me Now“. Grammy show producer Ken Ehrlich had considered putting dancing/electronica music into the ceremony in the past, but could never quite figure out how to incorporate the high-energy club feel in front of a sometimes staid audience.

He thinks he’s figured it out this year. For the first time, the Grammy show will put the spotlight on the genre with a segment featuring Grammy nominees Deadmau5, the Foo Fighters, Chris Brown, David Guetta and Lil Wayne, all performing in a tent space amid 1,000 fans.

“We decided to go all out this year,” Ehrlich said of the performance taking place outside the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where Sunday’s ceremony will be held. “All we’re going to try and do next week is to try and put the home audience in the middle of it. … It is more than just sitting there and watching it.”

“I don’t know that I figured out a way to do it that felt right until now,” Ehrlich said in an interview Monday. “My feeling about dance is it’s such an immersive experience for the participant, that to put it on stage … where the audience is not a part of it … I don’t know, honestly, until we came up with the idea of doing it this way, I don’t know if it ever would have worked.”

Ehrlich calls the performance the “most ambitious number that we’ve ever done outside the Staples Center.” It will feature at least four cameras from audience level as Deadmau5 (pronounced dead mouse) and the Foo Fighters perform his remixed version of the band’s song “Rope,” which netted him one of his Grammy nominations, and as Brown and Lil Wayne perform with Guetta.

Ehrlich said the performance reflects the popularity of dance music over the past few years.

“As much as a recorded medium that it is, and the fact that it’s selling a lot of CDs and downloads, it’s really a live experience,” he said. “It is more than just sitting there and watching it.”

“What I try and do when we’re building this show is to think about the audience first. … What can I do that’s going to keep an audience for 3 1/2 hours watching the Grammy Awards?” he said. “I do try and look for how broad I can make it and still assume that people are going to tune in and stay with it.”

“Unfortunately I was skating and I tried to do an ollie down one of my banks and I tailed out at the end of it,” Weezy said in a clip from DJ Scoob Doo’s upcoming “The Nino Brown Story” DVD that was given exclusively to MTV News.

“I kinda didn’t separate it — hopefully I didn’t separate my shoulder, but if it was separated I wouldn’t be able to move it,” he said, showing off his new Trukfit tee for the camera. “I probably strained a muscle. I don’t know the name of the muscle, my therapist told me the name of it — I’m not sure. We were thinking I probably sprained the muscle, which is like a slight tear, which will probably take a few days to heal. A few days and I’ll be back.”

“I ain’t worried about the pain, it hurts like hell but the worst thing is that I couldn’t really skate,” he said. “I always get injured but I never get an injury where I can’t get back on the board. Remember we had the nine stitches? That didn’t mean we couldn’t skate the next day, so we skated the next day.” – MTV

Two photos of Lil Wayne skateboarding with Justin Bieber and no arm sling on surfaced online yesterday, so it does look like Weezy is fully-healed from his skateboarding injury. Baby says Lil Wayne has finished recording his I Am Not A Human Being II album and will drop it before Summer this year (but I think we all know there will be some push-backs). The 5 Star Stunna also says him and Weezy have finished with their Like Father, Like Son II: Tha Last Mob album, and speaks on I Can’t Feel My Face, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded and Bigga Than Life.

On Lil Wayne’s I Am Not A Human Being 2:
“Wayne’s got an album he’s about to drop real soon. Its called I am not a Human Being 2. It’s gonna be before the summer for sure. We haven’t picked the date yet. Whenever he’s ready to drop his album, we’re gonna make it do what it do. He’s definitely got an album done and ready to go. Wayne works a lot. There’s no telling if Rebirth 2 will happen. But I know for sure we’ve got I Am Not A Human Being 2 ready to go. That’s the next project.”

On Like Father, Like Son 2:
“We got that finished too. We’ve been recording that. We never stopped recording for that. We got songs we want. When we get ready to drop it, we’ll probably do that in the 4th quarter. Wayne wants to do the I am Not a Human Being 2 and I want to do my solo album too, so we’ll probably do that later on.”

On I Can’t Feel My Face, the Juelz Santana & Lil Wayne album:
“I don’t know. I know Juelz and Wayne talk a lot and do work a lot but that’s on them. Whatever Juelz and Wayne do we’re gonna support that. But I know the next album my son puts out is going to be I am Not a Human Being 2.”

On Nicki Minaj’s Roman Reloaded:
“I just came from listening to her album. She’s grown so much as an artist. She’s so talented that this shit is scary. Like, wow she really is the female Weezy. Hands down she bad as a motherfucker. On November 28th this year, Lil Wayne will release a memoir titled “Gone Till November” through Grand Central Publishing (a division of Hachette Book Group). The book will detail Weezy‘s experience in jail and show the diaries that Wayne wrote while locked up behind bars in 2010 for 8 months. Also included in the journals will be Tune‘s thoughts and feelings, the people he met, his plans, his family, his children, his past and his future.

“We are thrilled to be publishing Wayne’s prison memoir,” said Ben Greenberg, executive editor at Grand Central Publishing. “He kept detailed journals of his inner and outer life while he was on Rikers Island, and they certainly tell a story. They are revealing.”
