Messi exerts more influence over more games. Ronaldo has been effective in the lesser matches but disappearing when it really matters. Messi is always important.

As for the numbers:
Messi was involved with 234 goals in 193 matches.
Ronaldo was involved with 215 goals in 177 matches.
So I think we can call that a tie.

Tbh, I think Messi is better than Ronaldo. Of course, Ronaldo looks better, has the body of an athletic, has sick skills and scores damn fucking much.
But Messi is even better without all that.

And Xavi and Iniesta combined gave him 8 assists this year, out of 53 goals.

Lol. Ronaldo is of course better aesthetically. He doesn't play in the most dominant team in history (although Real Madrid are pretty fucking epic tbh). Two of the best centre midfielders of the generation, he has fucking Xabi Alonso. Nor the ridiculous amount of possession that Barca hold. Only thing Ronaldo working for him is that he's the better athlete.

And it's pretty easy to shine against the Dutch defense tbh. What the hell could Van der Wiel do against him? And Matthijsen ffs? Holland sucked big dick this year, so of course Ronaldo can benefit from that. He scored the winning goal against Denmark, that was an important one.
And in which big matches (Classico, CL, Copa del Rey) did Ronaldo score past years? Definitely not as much as Messi.

Nothing personal mate, just like to discuss about Messi-Ronaldo.
