Alot of them are hip hop extremist (Only like underground rap and Rap legends).....those that aren't just love listening to lyrics (Wayne's lyrics as of late have been terrible)...those that are not any of the aforementioned (like Wayne in the past but just can't fuck with his new wack shit)..that leave underage teenagers that think Wayne is the most thugged out dude in the rap game and die hard Lil Wayne fans that are holding onto what he did...and realizing that it was great enough to still be a fan today

Success. Every legendary rapper went through that phase including Big Smalls. If you achieve a certain level of success in hip hop naturally fans want you out! But Legends are those that survived that phase. With that being said, This is a defining moment for Wayne because if his next album is solid(10th album).. It will be impossible to discredit him as a legend just like LL Cool J Nas Jay and Eminem.

I sometimes think that it's because they only followed his career from the point in which he became massively popular(kind of around his time of decline). I figure that or they're disappointed old fans.

True, but I think that if wayne didn't change so much he would be much more respected. The fact that he skateboards and wore that bullshit, along with the fact that his music has been on the decline is the reason why people don't respect him, because the drastic change in him makes people think how he was before was fake.
To be honest I wish wayne cared enough about his core fanbase, because most of the people who hated on him used to love him.
