Lil Wayne had a farewell party yesterday (02/07/2010) after the Saints won the Super Bowl in Miami at Dolce. All of Young Money, Birdman, Sean Garrett, Bow Wow, Lil Za, Chris Johnson, Tammy Torres, Trae, CJ, Wale, GEDTrell, DJ Scoob Doo, and B.G. turned up to show support as Wayne will begin serving his prison sentence tomorrow. If it were just about the music, the long-awaited Hot Boys reunion probably would have already happened. All four members — Lil Wayne, B.G., Juvenile and the currently incarcerated Turk — seem to be onboard. There are even some unreleased Turk vocals in the vaults. However, B.G. said that with him and Lil Wayne having problems with the law, it’s unlikely a record will drop anytime soon.
“I know I got my own personal dealings to deal with, as far as with the system and things of that nature,” said B.G., who was arrested for illegal gun possession recently in Louisiana. Meanwhile, Wayne is expected to be sentenced to a year in prison in a New York court in February.
“I know Wayne’s got to face the music with his situation with the system,” B.G. added. “But we got time. We got a whole bunch of time to put the album together. We record quick. We already got songs done. But I look at it like, if we record from now until whoever gets sentenced or however it go, we still wouldn’t be able to put the album out until [Wayne] comes home. When shorty comes home, I know he’ll wanna record a whole ‘nother album. So you might have a double Hot Boys CD. You never know. I don’t know how it will work out.”
Cash Money CEO addressed Lil Wayne’s upcoming jail stint, which will make him the third Hot Boy to be incarcerated, putting the group’s possible reunion on hold.
Young Money CEO Lil Wayne is facing up to a year in prison for a weapon violation in New York, while B.G. was arrested for possession of guns and drugs during a traffic stop in New Orleans last Tuesday (November 3).
“We got a hell of a plan and hell of a strategy,” Baby told Eric B. & Friends on AllHipHop Radio today (November 9).
“I promise you, you’ll think he [Lil Wayne] never left the streets. It ain’t much about the music at this point with my son, like fuck the music,” Baby said. “We got to go through something family wise, that the fans and nobody else will ever have to go through. This is the first time I will ever be without my child that means the world to me. This is where Blood stick together.”
While rumors of a Hot Boys reunion have been circulating the net for some time now, it has yet to materialize. During a recent interview Juvenile told XXLMag.com that all four members of the group have yet to hit the studio together.
“They already gave me some money on that project but I don’t really know what happened to that,” Juvie told XXL. “I would love to give people a concrete answer but all I can tell you is I did receive some money for that project. I don’t know what happened with the business on everybody else so I can only speak on a Juvenile standpoint.”
Although he has already been compensated, Juvie says that himself, Lil Wayne, B.G. and Turk, have yet to make any new tracks together. When asked if they have even recorded any new music, the New Orleans native replied, “Nah we never made it to that point. “ He does assure us, on the other hand, that him and B.G. have shared the vocal booth together on one track.
Damn, this is crazy, I could of sworn that Birdman said they have been in the studio and already cooked up some tracks. I remember him also saying the Hot Boys reunion album will be out sometime in March 2010, but I doubt that!
