Lil Wayne Thanks Fans, Speaks On Las Vegas Performance & Last 8 Months In Jail

Lil Wayne is a man of many words when it comes to his rhymes, but the superstar MC was short and to the point when describing how he’s moving on past his experience in prison the past eight months.

“I forgot about yesterday,” Wayne told MTV News exclusively on the red carpet of his “Welcome Home Tunechi” party in downtown Miami on Sunday night (November 7).

The night before, on Saturday, Wayne surprised fans and Drake by appearing on stage next to his protege during Drake’s last tour stop in Las Vegas for his Light Dreams and Nightmares jaunt.

“It’s unexplainable,” Wayne said of returning to the stage. “Words can’t explain. I’m good with words and I can’t explain.”

“I just wanna thank everybody,” he said. “Not only MTV fans, but the fans across the whole world. Most of all, my family. I couldn’t do it without them and I would never do it without them.”

Sway speaks to Lil Wayne and Birdman on the red carpet of Wayne‘s “Welcome Home Tunechi” party last night. Weezy thanks his fans and family, speaks on his performance with Drake in Las Vegas, says he has already “forgot about yesterday” when asked about moving on from his last 8 months behind bars, and Birdman speaks on their next business plans. Lil Wayne’s Final Letter From Jail – The End Of A Long Journey

Lil Waynes Final Letter From Jail The End Of A Long Journey

Hello world! My world! Our world!

As I greet you all in my last days on this island, I must reflect. I think back to when I first arrived and I had no clue of what I’d be experiencing. I was never scared, worried, nor bothered by the situation. For that, I thank God, my family, and you, my amazing fans. I prayed for you all every night, as I’m aware that I was in your prayers as well. The very first day that I received mail, it was about 300 pieces or more! I smiled like a child of Christmas. But when I began to read them, my heart smiled. I laughed with some of you, reasoned with some of you, and even cried with some of you. I responded to as many of you that time would allow. I plan to keep reading and responding after my release. I thank you all for being so very supportive, as I never imagined how much impact my words and life can have. With this knowledge, I vow to continue to be me! For you have assured time that I don’t have to change for no one but God. I will be the same Martian I was when I left, just better. You fans are more than amazing, and I will for to the end of the world for your love. This isn’t the last of weezythanxyou.com I will continue to thank you when I’m home.

I simple LOVE you all.

P.S. Thanx for supporting my YM team the way you do!!

Lil Wayne Headed ‘Straight To The Studio’ After Leaving Prison, Says Birdman

Lil Wayne Headed Straight To The Studio After Leaving Prison Says Birdman

Birdman tells Music Mix that after chilling and partying with his family, Lil Wayne will go straight to the studio when he is released from Rikers Island in four days. Baby also says that Weezy will be working on his Tha Carter IV album (hopefully Dedication 4 too), and we should be looking for Like Father, Like Son Part 2 to drop on Father’s Day weekend.

“Me knowing Wayne, he’s going into the studio,” Cash Money label head Baby (a.k.a. Birdman) tells the Music Mix. “He hasn’t been able to rap for months. I think after seeing the family, popping a few bottles, it’s back to basics. Family first, that’s what we believe in, that’s what we’re loyal to. After that, I think the same day he comes home, he’s going to go straight to the studio.”

Wayne’s first priority when he enters the booth for the first time since March will be working on his long-promised project Tha Carter IV. Baby expects that album to arrive in the first quarter of 2011, though no release plans have been finalized.

Baby is also looking forward to working with Wayne on a sequel to Like Father, Like Son, the collaborative album that the mentor and protégé released in 2006. “We’re planning on putting that out Father’s Day weekend,” he says. So what should fans expect to hear next June? “Just me and Wayne being us, the father-son thing. We’re bringing that Cash Money/Young Money sound, that traditional hard-body rap, the music that we do together — that gangsta shit, straight up.”
