Lil Wayne was supposed to be in jail today after there being a fire at Manhattan Criminal Court yesterday… but it looks like he will have five more days of freedom after the judge has decided to push back Wayne‘s sentence once again. The reason for this is because the officials have asked for more time to repair the damage from the fire in the Manhattan Lower Courthouse. Weezy is set to appear in court on Monday 8th March, unless another issue occurs.

In another clip sent exclusively to MTV News by Weezy and his trusted videographer, we see Wayne as he learns of his sentencing delay. The clip begins with Wayne stepping off a private jet and walking into a waiting van. Later Weezy leaves his hotel, riding toward Manhattan — while in the Lincoln Tunnel, Weezy‘s road manager E.I. informs him there’s been a fire at the court building.

“There’s been a fire in the court. I have one more day of freedom. For now, y’all keep it real, ’cause I will,” Wayne said.

“I’m ready. I’m all smiles,” he continued, pointing to his teeth. “They can’t break my strength. They can only lock me up physically. They can’t lock up my mind. They can’t lock up my heart. They can only take my time because the law allows them to. Time is precious, but love is life. So therefore in the end my love will prevail.” – MTV

As you know, Lil Wayne was set to be sentenced today, but a fire at Manhattan Criminal Court delayed the sentence by one day. Weezy went straight to the studio for his extra day of freedom to record 3 songs for: Mike Jackson, Shanell and Justin Bieber.

A fire today has closed the Manhattan Criminal Court building for the remainder of the day. The fire was started in the basement of the facility. Wayne was scheduled to report there in order to begin his year long jail sentence later today. They don’t call him the Fireman for nothin’.

It was widely reported that Drake was offered 2 million from Atlantic Records but turned that down to figure out his options a little bit more. It was also rumored that there was tension between Wayne and Drake due to the fact that Drake would not sign with him. Well I am hearing that Drizzy wanted to sign with Wayne all along but was concerned due to the fact that Young Money is an offshoot of Cash Money and Cash Money has the worst reputation in the business for fucking artists out of their money and overall career. However my intel into this situation told me that Drake has certain guarantees such as album release dates in his contract and also the fact that Weezy doubled the amount he was being offered and gave Drake 4 million just to sign! This is what ultimately led Drake to stick with the Martian.

This is certainly a lot of cash, but will it be worth it

Not too sure about this one but there are some rumors floating around that one of Lil Wayne’s cribs caught on fire and completely burned down this past Wednesday. From what I am hearing so far his home in Houston Texas caught fire in the afternoon hours of Wednesday and was totally destroyed.

Apparently nobody knew it was Wayne’s crib until one of the neighbors alerted a member of the local media that was there covering the fire and that is how the news spread.

Now, these are just rumors (shout outs to 24hourhiphop) and his house burning down would kind of explain why he cancelled his European tours this week.
