Lil Wayne Covers VIBE Magazine’s Oct/Nov Issue

Lil Wayne Covers VIBE Magazines October-November Issue

Lil Wayne graces the front cover of VIBE Magazine‘s October/November issue, which will hit newsstands soon. You can read some excerpts from Weezy‘s interview in the magazine here (talks about maybe doing a collabo project with Rick Ross) and here (speaks on dissing Jay-Z). Below, you can read a couple more parts from his interview were he talks about looking at Drake as competition and if hip hop influenced the riots in England back in August.

VIBE: You mentioned how humbled you were at the success of “She Will.” Drake, who wrote and performs the song’s chorus, has now become a platinum star in his own right. Do you look at the guy and say, “Wow, I helped create a monster, I have to stay on my toes”?

LIL WAYNE: I don’t look at it like that. Drake is my artist. If he wasn’t my artist, then yeah maybe. But that’s my artist. He’s not just a friend. We’re more than friends. It’s business. It would be impossible for it to be a competition. I mean, I’m the guy’s boss.

Lil Wayne in the studio with Ashanti

Lowkey got his hands on the July/August 2011 issue of XXL Magazine (officially hits newsstands on July 12), and posted an excerpt from Wayne‘s interview:

Well, it’s not to late (referring to Justin Timberlake getting on C4). No, it ain’t. I just don’t have the record. These niggas’ beats been sucking. I’m putting it out there: you producers, what y’all doing? Get right, man. Step it up. This is coming from a rapper. One of the best rappers. I ain’t saying I’m the best no more, because these niggas is too good these days. I got old. But damn, y’all niggas’ beats is terrible! [Chad Ochocinco walks into the room] These niggas’ beats sound like Ochocino made them.

I know this interview was done a while back, but I wonder if this could give Weezy‘s Tha Carter IV another push-back :?: :(
