Lil Wayne‘s latest single off his Tha Carter IV album featuring Drake, “She Will“, has debuted at #3 on Billboard‘s Hot 100! This is Weezy‘s highest-ever opening rank on the chart, and it also marks Wayne‘s top 10 Hot 100 debut, pushing him past other male artists such as: Eminem and Kanye West. “She Will” is the fourth entry on the Hot 100 chart from Tune‘s C4 album too, as “6 Foot, 7 Foot” featuring Cory Gunz reached #9, “John” featuring Rick Ross reached #22, and “How To Love” reached #5.

“I think we’re lucky this time.” Bryant said of Wayne’s ninth album, which was officially set to premiere on iTunes at midnight on August 29th after his closing performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, and everywhere else that same day. “We held it until the last moment we could, and we didn’t send any songs or beats by e-mail – we used iChat, or a person had to get on a plane to share music…I’m knocking on wood before I get off the phone with you and it’s all over the Internet.”

Hours later, Tha Carter IV leaked. As fans sucked up bandwidth to download it, others wondered exactly what artists have to do to keep a hot album under wraps: Hotel studio sessions? Pelican briefcases? Biometric fingerprint detectors?

Wayne is no stranger to controversial rollouts: I Am Not a Human Being, released while the MC was still in prison, was a digital-only album for two weeks before CDs were let loose. Bryan “Birdman” Williams, CEO of Cash Money Records, says Wayne went the equal-opportunity route this time because those tactics “just piss everybody off. This is one of the biggest releases of the year, and we wanted to make sure that everybody got to play their part at the same time.”

Cash Money delivered Carter IV to Universal about 10 days in advance, which Williams says was necessary to press the two million units being shipped in its first week. “The goal is to sell a million-plus copies,” he explains. Although that’s likely what led to Carter IV breaking free, Williams says he’s actually OK with leaks, to a point. “I can deal with it for short period of time,” he says. It’s when you have a leak out for a long time that it’s crazy.”

In Cash Money news, the label are about to sign an internationally known pop group, who go by the name of Savvy:

Cash Money Records will expand the roster next week when they officially welcome the first pop group to their label. Internationally known pop band Savvy has inked a deal with Cash Money Records.

Savvy, the label’s latest acquisition, is an internationally known six–member teen band that’s featured in the international TV show “The Wannabes,” which will premiere in North America on September 5th on Starz Kids & Family. The group will be introduced to North America via their upcoming debut album for Cash Money Records.

This Monday (August 29th), Cash Money’s CEO’s, Bryan “Birdman” Williams and his brother, Co-CEO Ronald “Slim” Williams, will be on hand to welcome the group to Cash Money Records. The brothers will preside over a swanky event at 11:00 AM at The Montage Hotel, which is located in Beverly Hills. – AHH

Lil Wayne is getting ready to start his own clothing line, which will be called Rebirth, the same title of his experimental 2010 album. Weezy told XXL Magazine in their July/August 2011 issue that is available on newsstands now, he wants to jump into the fashion business:

“I just figure that I… I’m funky,” he explained. “I got that from my stylist, Marisa. I’m funky, like she say. I wear a whole buncha items at one time, you know what I mean? I be figuring you at least want one of them items. Like, ‘Damn, I’d love to have that safety pin he got on,’ you know what I mean? Anything. I got on these types of shoes, these shorts, this sweater… A year from now, I want all these items to be mine. Rebirth. I want—I just figure people want to be funky like me, so I got my clothing line.”

After many push backs, Bryant tells Billboard there will be no more, “August 29, it’s not changing.” “He put the mixtape and the album in my hand the same day. He turned it in to me yesterday,” Bryant tells Billboard. “It’s done for the most part, around thirty songs that I need to carve down to twelve to sixteen, with four or so bonus tracks.” So much for those unofficial track listings floating around, aye? Bryant confirmed Nas, Jadakiss and Tech N9ne will appear on “Tha Carter IV.”

To promote the long-awaited release of “Tha Carter IV,” Lil Wayne is partnering up with MTV. After Lil Wayne performs on MTV’s Video Music Awards on August 28, the fans will be be able to log on to iTunes “immediately after” to purchase the album.

Target stores will carry an exclusive of the album, Bryant tells Billboard. Bryant did not mention whether the exclusive version will include additional tracks and if so, how many.

Some great news Young Moneyians/Wayniacs! Lil Wayne tells us in the video above that he is finished with Tha Carter IV and the official release date will be May 16th (not May 24th).

“Tha Carter IV is done,” Wayne told MTV News. “All they need to do is tell Tez (manager Cortez Bryant) to stop sitting on it. Tez, stop sitting on Tha Carter IV and put the album out.”

Bryant, Weezy’s longtime manager, was in attendance and provided the specific release date. “May 16, believe that,” Wayne said. “It can come out tomorrow ’cause I’m so finished … Tha Carter IV will be dropping May 16. If you’re not doing anything, do me,” he added. – MTV

I was going to wait until we got some more footage of Lil Wayne‘s interview with MTV‘s Sway before I posted this clip, but that could be on Friday now. So here is a 45 second clip of Weezy explaining why he didn’t shoot any music videos from the I Am Not A Human Being album, and went straight to shooting Tha Carter IV single.

“Thanks to the fans, it still went gold. That’s with one video or something like that and really no promotion,” he said. “‘Cause when I came home, first thing I was telling my manager Cortez Bryant, I was like, ‘Let’s capitalize, let’s shoot another video off of it.’ He was like, ‘You know, it might be a little too late right now.’ I was like, ‘I’m Wayne! It ain’t never too late.’”

“Then that’s when I recorded ’6 Foot 7 Foot,’ and he was like, ‘Let’s shoot a video to that,’ ” he recalled.

I’m gonna have to disagree with Tez, I do think Tune should of shot a visual to “Right Above It“, “That Ain’t Me“, or “Bill Gates” (which I thought DJ Scoob Doo was going to direct anyway). Do any of you agree with Wayne‘s manager to go straight into working on promoting C4

Birdman and Lil Wayne‘s manager Cortez Bryant sat down with CNN to talk about Weezy and how being behind bars has changed him. They also talk on the I Am Not A Human Being album and what their plans are for when he is released.

Before Lil Wayne went to jail he told me, “When I’m gone, I don’t want my fans to feel like they miss me.” So he gave me Tha Carter IV before he went in- 20-something songs. Gee and I listened to them, but as time went on- I talk to Wayne everyday- it inspired me that he’d been writing inside. So I decided I wanna brand Carter IV as that Wayne the world’s been waiting to hear. It’s now gonna be all fresh-out-of jail material. Tha Carter Brand is so large I wanna make sure we don’t go backwards.

So basically, I think what Wayne‘s team are gonna do is put 10 of the songs from what Wayne gave Tez on the I’m Not A Human Being EP (dropping September 27th), and then when Wayne gets out of prison he will re-do all of Tha Carter IV album. We have already heard one song from the EP and we know for a fact that Lil Twist and T-Streets will be featured on there. There are also some rumors going around that a new version of “Told Y’all” and a new version of “I’m Not A Human” will be on the EP along with the “30 Minutes to New Orleans” track (but using a different beat). Great news Wayniacs, Vibe has announced that Lil Wayne will be dropping a new EP on his birthday, September 27. The EP is titled “I’m Not A Human Being” and will feature all new material by Weezy. Wayne‘s manager Cortez Bryant told Vibe that the upcoming EP will serve as the prelude for Tha Carter IV. You can read more of what Tez said after the jump as well as Tunechi being featured on Kanye‘s “Good Ass Job” album.

“I’m putting out a Wayne album called I’m Not A Human Being and I’ll probably drop it on his birthday, September 27,” says Cortez Bryant, Lil Wayne’s co-manager and Young Money CEO.

According to Bryant, the album will be an EP of all new Wayne material to serve as the Carter IV prelude. Fans are also warned not to expect any marketing and promotion bells and whistles.

“We not about to roll out no three month set up,” says Bryant. “I’m not even putting it out in stores. We just gonna put it out virally and maybe package it up for Christmas. Give ‘em a hard copy later for fan appreciation.”

Lil Wayne Featured On Kanye West’s ‘Good Ass Job’

As if the EP isn’t enough, we have more exciting news. Weezy will be featured on Kanye West‘s highly anticipated album “Good Ass Job” along with fellow Young Money artist Drake, Jay-Z, and Eminem. Supposedly three of these artists will be on one song together. Could we be seeing a “Forever” part 2 We will see on September 14th when “Good Ass Job” drops.

Lil Wayne‘s upcoming rock album, Rebirth which was meant to be dropping in eleven days has been pushed back to February 2010. You can see Birdman’s tweet above were he says the album is coming February 1st, but Cortez Bryant (Lil Wayne’s manager) told us (LilWayneHQ.com) that the album is dropping February 2nd.

I thought that this pushback might have something to do with Weezy going to prison in February, but Cortez told us it’s because they want to get the single out. The official statement will be coming tonight, and We Are Young Money is still dropping December 21st.

The good news is that Kevin Rudolf is shooting a music video for his song “Cash Money Hero’s” all today with Lil Wayne, Birdman, and Jay Sean. You can see a picture from the set here.
