Lil Wayne has been confirmed as a performer with Chris Brown and David Guetta for the dance segment part at the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards, which will broadcast live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 12th at 8PM EST. If Weezy, Brown and Guetta are all performing together, then I would guess they will be performing either “I Can Only Imagine” or “Look At Me Now“. Hit the jump to read what Grammy show producer Ken Ehrlich said about the performance below!

Grammy show producer Ken Ehrlich had considered putting dancing/electronica music into the ceremony in the past, but could never quite figure out how to incorporate the high-energy club feel in front of a sometimes staid audience.

He thinks he’s figured it out this year. For the first time, the Grammy show will put the spotlight on the genre with a segment featuring Grammy nominees Deadmau5, the Foo Fighters, Chris Brown, David Guetta and Lil Wayne, all performing in a tent space amid 1,000 fans.

“We decided to go all out this year,” Ehrlich said of the performance taking place outside the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where Sunday’s ceremony will be held. “All we’re going to try and do next week is to try and put the home audience in the middle of it. … It is more than just sitting there and watching it.”

“I don’t know that I figured out a way to do it that felt right until now,” Ehrlich said in an interview Monday. “My feeling about dance is it’s such an immersive experience for the participant, that to put it on stage … where the audience is not a part of it … I don’t know, honestly, until we came up with the idea of doing it this way, I don’t know if it ever would have worked.”

Ehrlich calls the performance the “most ambitious number that we’ve ever done outside the Staples Center.” It will feature at least four cameras from audience level as Deadmau5 (pronounced dead mouse) and the Foo Fighters perform his remixed version of the band’s song “Rope,” which netted him one of his Grammy nominations, and as Brown and Lil Wayne perform with Guetta.

Ehrlich said the performance reflects the popularity of dance music over the past few years.

“As much as a recorded medium that it is, and the fact that it’s selling a lot of CDs and downloads, it’s really a live experience,” he said. “It is more than just sitting there and watching it.”

“What I try and do when we’re building this show is to think about the audience first. … What can I do that’s going to keep an audience for 3 1/2 hours watching the Grammy Awards?” he said. “I do try and look for how broad I can make it and still assume that people are going to tune in and stay with it.”

The official single cover for “Sweat”

Bow Wow dropped his new single just over a week ago from his upcoming Underrated album, which will be released on December 6th, but we now have the official mastered CDQ version of “Sweat” featuring Lil Wayne that was produced by Detail. The music video should be dropping in the next couple of weeks and you can stream/download the single below, courtesy of HHNM!

Check out the lyrics to the track here and hit the jump to watch some footage of producer Detail speaking about how this collabo nearly didn’t happen, because Bow and Weezy already have a record together.

“Obviously everybody knows I got a very diverse sound — I can do pop, I can do rock, I can do hip-hop, R&B,” the very confident “How to Love” beatmaker told Mixtape Daily. “For me it’s just a matter of studying the artist and kinda coming up with a formula that’s more natural for them.”

“At Lil Wayne’s Carter IV release party, I was talking to Maine about the ‘Sweat’ record. He hadn’t even heard it. He was like, ‘Wayne already got a record with Bow Wow,’ ” Detail recalled of his and Mack’s conversation.

Given Detail’s track record for crafting hit singles with Young Money, Mack agreed to listen to the beat, which the producer sent him right away. “He hit me back and said, ‘Damn that bitch is a beast,’ ” Detail said. “So when he said that, I knew off the top that this motherfucker gonna go.”

Below, is an exclusive interview we held with producer, mixer and recording engineer Mike “Banger” Cadahia, who works closely with Lil Wayne and the Young Money/Cash Money family every day and night. In this interview, Mike speaks about his job, Lil Wayne, YMCMB, the “That’s What They Call Me” leak, how Weezy reacted to selling over a million copies of Tha Carter IV in the first week of the album being released, and more! Banger also says Tunechi is working on a new project, but wouldn’t tell us what it is (probably the I Can’t Feel My Face collaboration).

LWHQ: Tell us about yourself Mike? How long have you been creating beats and engineering for?
Mike Banger: I lost exact count but maybe over ten years. I started playing drums first for a few years then got an MPC and started producing. I eventually got Pro Tools and learned to record and mix.

LWHQ: What made you get into this career?
Mike Banger: I just love music and haven’t found anything better to do yet. It’s also great to know how many people you can reach doing this. I like being in the studio environment at any hour so its easy to pull an all-nighter. I heard you can make a lot of money too.

LWHQ: How many hours does Lil Wayne keep you in the studio for per week?
Mike Banger: I don’t know. I’m in the studio everyday at least once on my own regardless unless it’s a special occasion. How many hours a week do I spend out of the studio is the question.

LWHQ: What’s your favorite Wayne track that you recorded and mixed?
Mike Banger: “Right Above It” was my first real major mix and I think that reached #1 on charts so it’s good to know my ears can be trusted at that level. “Bill Gates” is dope too. “YM Banger” was produced, recorded, and mixed by me so you can’t forget that one of course.

LWHQ: Have you produced more tracks for Weezy that we can be looking out for in the future after “YM Banger” got so much positive feedback?
Mike Banger: There’s that one with the wrong version leaked “That’s What They Call Me”. I mixed it already but I don’t know if it should be leaked or be held for another project. I’m looking to do more tracks with everyone in YM though now that I’m more comfortable in this position. Millz got one, Gudda did one too and I’m hoping on doing a lot more collaboration group tracks like “YM Banger”.

LWHQ: Do you have a favorite artist from Young Money who you love working with?
Mike Banger: Yeah Wayne. I actually like it the most when everyone is in the studio busy working together.

LWHQ: Have you worked with anyone from Cash Money, such as Birdman?
Mike Banger: Stunna comes in once in a while and he also did one of my tracks too, but I don’t know about anyone else since I’ve really just been busy with Wayne.

LWHQ: What other music artists have you never worked with, but you would love to one day?
Mike Banger: I don’t know. I love hip hop and through Wayne I’ve somehow ended up working on a lot of my favorite artists projects already. I’ve gotten the opportunity to touch sessions from Busta Rhymes, Kanye West, Tech N9ne, Cory Gunz, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Eminem, Nas, Jadakiss, and N.O.R.E., but they usually just email each other the songs. I guess I would like to witness more physical collaborations between the artists.

LWHQ: What was Wayne’s initial reaction to selling nearly a million albums in the first week?
Mike Banger: He just relayed the information to me on the jet in mid air, we congratulated everyone on the team, and kept on working. Then we started joking acting all nonchalant about it like: “A mill in a week huh? hmm, not too bad. It could have been worse.”

LWHQ: Has Tune been back in the studio working on any other projects? Such as Dedication 4, or the collabo album with Drake, etc.?
Mike Banger: Yeah, we never left the studio so rest assured the next project is already on its way. I can’t really say what that is yet though but maybe I’ll tweet it.

LWHQ: Do you have any advice for any upcoming producers/engineers?
Mike Banger: I would say to really work on your craft till you feel you are truly ready to compete in the business and expect long hours of unpaid work, possibly many years. Be who you want to be at all times even when you’re at the bottom with nothing. Preserve your creativity. Be influenced by your inspirations and keep in mind that one day you might be in a room surrounded by all of them.

LWHQ: Any last words, websites or shout outs you would like to leave the readers with?
Mike Banger: Shout out to Wayne, check out my website MikeBanger.com, @MikeBanger on Twitter, Young Money we’re the greatest! Shout out to T-Streets on the studio bus with me, thank you HQ for the interview, one time for the 305, and everyone go get C4.

Shout out to Kronnick for setting up the interview!

“We heard the beat, and I was fresh out of jail, you know, so I ain’t really know new music—no new music,” Wayne told XXL. “I ain’t really know about nothing, so, we heard the beat, and when it came on, Mack Maine—it just made Mack say that Rick Ross line. Mack just said that ‘I’m not a star, somebody lied, I got a chopper in the car.’ He’s like ‘that beat sounds just like that.’ And I was like ‘does it sound so much like it to where I shouldn’t do it?’ And he was like ‘nah, cause that bitch still hard as fuck.’ So, I did it and I was like ‘I need a hook.’”

Weezy thought it was appropriate to include Rozay on the record. He called The Bawse and gave his friend two options. Wayne told Ross that he preferred a chorus that used lines from “I’m Not A Star,” however, Ross was also free to make a completely fresh hook.

“He could have just put a hook on there,” Wayne said. “He could have said something else, but he did what we wanted it to be, and I just added the other part.”

Below, is an exclusive interview LilWayneHQ.com held with producer/music artist Detail, who has been working closely with Lil Wayne and the YMCMB crew recently. In the interview, Detail speaks on music, the first time he met Weezy, Tune‘s upcoming Tha Carter IV album, and more.

LWHQ: Tell us about yourself Detail? How long have you been a music artist and creating beats for? What made you get into this career?
Detail: I love Music! I’ve been doing this music and creating beats since I was 16, and I am now 26. What made me get into this game is the fact that I was told I couldn’t get in.

LWHQ: Do you have more fun spending time as a producer or as an actual artist?
Detail: I have more fun working people than working myself.

LWHQ: What other music artists have you never worked with, but you would love to one day?
Detail: John Mayor, and I would like to work with myself a lil’ more.

LWHQ: How did you meet Lil Wayne, and what’s the experience like in the studio with Wayne?
Detail: I did the single for Akon called “I’m So Paid” and I met Wayne on the video set of that… shout out my nigga Jeezy, he was on that song. The experience with Wayne in the studio is random, like you don’t know what to expect, but your gonna get there.

LWHQ: Have you been working with any artists from Young Money Entertainment or Cash Money Records?
Detail: Absolutely, yeah they all family

LWHQ: Tell us about Tha Carter IV; what can we expect? Carter 2 style? Rebirth style? lots of auto-tune? features?
Detail: First and foremost, there is no auto-tune on “How To Love”. I’ll give any producer or engineer 10k if they find any vocal sign of auto-tune on there. With features, I don’t want to spill the beans.

LWHQ: How many songs have you done for C4, and will Weezy or anyone from YMCMB be on any of your upcoming projects?
Detail: I’ve done a bunch songs with Wayne… he has a good ear, whatever he chooses he can have. Anybody else, of course any smashes they want to do lets get it, it’s family.

LWHQ: Do you feel that Tha Carter IV can live up to the hype, and do you feel it has the same potential and power as Tha Carter III did?
Detail: You got to think of it like this, when you got an icon that gets it like Lil Wayne, they get it. When LeBron left Cleveland and went to Miami, did he live up to the hype?… simple mathematics.

LWHQ: Any last words, websites or shouts outs you would like to leave the readers with?
Detail: Find me and see me at LilWayneHQ.com, and find me and see me exclusively at IAmDetail.com! Don’t follow me on twitter unless I follow you first hahaha… @DetaiL.

LWHQ: Thanks for your time Detail, we appreciate you giving us this interview. Everybody at LilWayneHQ.com and YoungMoneyHQ.com would like to wish you the best of luck in the future.
Detail: YMCMB Luv.

Above, Lil Wayne speaks about his new single “How To Love” with Sway when the two sat down after the taping of Weezy‘s upcoming Unplugged special.

“I can tell you that I’ve never had a single like it, and it’s an amazing song. It’s an amazing song. When I listen to it I get goose bumps,” Weezy said. “And I feel like the song is gonna take me somewhere that I’ve never been musically.”

Tunechi, who recently extended his I Am Still Music Tour through September, is looking to diversify his live show, and “How to Love” would help him do that. “You know that if you come to a Lil Wayne show two years from now, you already know that ‘I’m gonna get rap — some of the best rap — I’m gonna get some guitar, I’m gonna get some singin’, I’m gonna get some dancin’, I’m gonna get some old-school music, and I’m goin’ to a show tonight.’ And I think that’s where this song is directing me to.”

For Birdman Jr., rap just isn’t enough anymore. “I am a musician, and a few years back, I noticed that I wasn’t just a rapper. And I noticed that I didn’t want to do this just to rap,” he said before clarifying his point. “I do want to go down as one of the greatest rappers of all time, but I also want to go down as one of the greatest musicians of all time.

“When you think about it, Tupac is just known as a great rapper; Biggie is just known as a great rapper, Jay-Z — just known as a great rapper,” he continued. “I want to be known as that rapper that turned it all the way up and became the face of the music.”

Actually, Wayne looks to epitomize the word one day. “When they make a billboard and put whoever they gonna put up there to define the word ‘music,’ I wanna be there.” – MTV

After the jump, you can watch videos of Detail speak on producing “How To Love” (says Weezy recorded the song in November 2010), Rick Ross chat about his great relationship with Lil Wayne and the “John” single, and Birdman talk about Tune‘s Tha Carter IV album (says he thinks it will be one of the best albums in history).

“Wayne is a rock star and he’s up for any challenge in the world as long as it feels right,” he told MTV News. “He don’t ever really discriminate on talent and people; if it feels right, he’s up for the challenge.”

“We created it in a very organic way; he’s a very organic person,” said Detail, who also writes songs and performs. “Me and my production team created a couple of tunes that we could deliver to him. I was shocked on his response on that song. Once he responded to it, it wasn’t nothing to it but to do it.”

The Detroit producer actually used Lil Wayne and Birdman’s 2006 single “Leather So Soft” as inspiration for “How to Love.” “The crazy part about it was I know Wayne plays guitar. If y’all ever seen the I Am Music Tour, he be playing the guitar. So we created something that was like ‘Leather So Soft,’ where he could rock out with the guitar.

“We’re visual with that type of stuff, so we just created a simple guitar riff that he can play on tour as well, over some 808s, a smooth ballad type of a beat,” he explained. “It wasn’t nothing special, it was just something that felt strong. That was the type of record that would rock in his iPod and rock in my iPod for days and days and days before the world got a chance to experience the pleasure of something with such organic-ness.” – MTV

During this week’s “RapFix Live,” the Boss spoke to host Sway about his relationship with Wayne and his favorite memory from his I Am Still Music run. “The very first night the tour kicked off, just being backstage and me having a great relationship with Cash Money,” he revealed. “So it’s really like me being at home with my brothers when it comes to Birdman and Lil Wayne.”

“When Wayne first came home from jail he was like, ‘That ‘”I’m Not a Star,” that’s one of my favorite joints, let’s do something in that vibe,’ ” Ross recalled. “I’m like, ‘Easy.’ He actually gave me the track and I was like, ‘Wow, this is too easy.’ ”

“It’s got similarities to ‘Lollipop’… it’s just a little slower and it has similar sounds in it, so people may relate it to the step-brother of ‘Lollipop.’ It’s also got completely different melodies and chords. On set of Swizz Beatz’ “Rock N Roll” video shoot with Lil Wayne and Lenny Kravitz.

The homie Matt, who used to help me with blog posts on this site, interviewed producer Develop recently for RapDose. They speak on an upcoming project Develop has coming out with Lil Wayne, working with Weezy after he was released from Rikers Island, a dope track they both did that might end up being the intro on Tha Carter IV, Rebirth, and plenty more. Hit the jump to read the interview!

Who’s your favorite artist(s) to work with?
Obviously Wayne. Watching him record his shit, go in and do what he does. He just keeps on going. Even when he’s tired, he keeps on rockin’ out.

You’ve got a project coming out soon called The Carter Report, right?
The Carter Report is all the songs I’ve done with Weezy, all the way back to 2004. The Carter Era is all of the songs and The Carter Report is the instrumentals of all the songs.

Is there going to be anything new or is it going to be music we’ve heard before?
To a certain extent, it’s all been released but it’s not been hugely promoted and whatnot. So, I think this is good it’s all gonna be on one CD. All of these songs have been scattered from all different time periods. There are probably songs on there that people that are Weezy fans now that weren’t listening to him three years ago will hear this and be like “Oh shit, I’ve never heard this.” It’s stuff from 2004, so that’s like seven years ago.

When will that be released?
I’m working on it for this month. I’m waiting on a couple songs that I don’t have without the DJ on them. You already know how difficult they can be to find just because no matter where Wayne’s going, he’s always in the studio with the engineer, which is a friend of mine. And back then, he was trading out all these songs through these hard drives. There were multiple, multiple just crazy hard drives filled with shit. So it’s going to be a little time consuming. That’s what I’m trying to work out now.

I’m trying to contemplate if I should drop an instrumental first, but I don’t know how many fans are gonna want to just hear the music. The instrumentals, I’m dropping more for the rappers that never got an opportunity to get the instrumentals. You know, for the kids on the come-up that want the music, so that they can rap on these kinds of records. I’d like to drop the song and the instrumental together. I don’t know.

We know you’ve worked a lot with Lil Wayne lately; whom else have you been working with?
I’ve got Tyga. Cory I’ve known for a while. Him and I supposed to be going through some stuff. I’ve got Juelz; he’s got a couple of records I heard that are jumpin’ off. All I’ve been doing is chilling, working. I like to create. That’s all I do is just create. But I’ve got some cool shit I’m working on that’s pop, more dance, top 40 type shit other than rap.

You and Wayne did a record together almost right after his release. I remember you telling me it could be Tha Carter IV material.
Yeah, yeah, yeah!

Other than that, what else can you tell us about that record?
It’s fuckin’ epic! It’s crazy! It starts one way and once the hook comes in, it just goes somewhere else. It could definitely fool people during the first twenty-four bars.

Do you think it’s single material?
It depends on… I don’t know, man. Me, I’m not one of those producers that make records, trying to make it a single. I don’t shift that way when I’m working on music. I just approach it in a way as to “how can it be different?” So, format-wise, it could work. I think it could definitely be something. Like I said, it’s definitely gonna be crazy. And the approach Wayne took when recording it was different than anything that’s worked before. He was using bars that he had written in Riker’s. With that said, it took a little more time than other records that we had done.

Is it for sure Tha Carter IV or is it a possibility?
From my sources and everyone that I’ve talked to, it’s for sure Tha Carter IV. I’m hoping and I’m feeling that it could be the intro.

I love those kinds of records, that “intro” feel. I love that.
Yeah man! It’s epic! The beat’s hard and heavy, then it just explodes.

Everyone wants to know; how’s Tha Carter IV sounding right now?
Shit, from what I’ve heard, he’s definitely on some next-level shit. I think everyone kinda hears it. I think he’ll definitely stay consistent with that, if not more appealing.

I know he’s saving some records from before he was incarcerated. Did you produce any of them?
I’m not sure which ones those are. We literally have about fifteen records stashed away, some even from that Rebirth shit, but they weren’t full rock. They were more like rock-influenced but still hip-hop so that they could still be used. I think two of them had Drake on them, one of them had Sean Kingston on it. The others were just crazy. I’m not too sure though. He works until that very last day. Even after they choose Tha Carter IV. He’s been workin’.

Did you have any production on Rebirth?
No, I didn’t. Like I said, I had about nine records, maybe even a little less, like seven records that we did for that. They’re still crazy.

I love Rebirth, but I heard a lot of bad things about it.
Yeah, it’s interesting. People will probably appreciate it more in about a year from now. He was trying to have fun.

Did you produce “What’s Wrong With Them” specifically for Wayne knowing Nicki Minaj would be featured on it, or was it a beat you had already made before Wayne asked you for production?
That record is funny, actually, because I was in Miami. I went to check up on Wayne and he played my some things. He had asked me if I had any beats for him and I said no. It just felt totally wrong. It was the first time I had ever said “No, I don’t have anything for you.” So, what I did was, before I even got back to New York from Miami, I’d already booked a flight for me to go back to Miami while I was still in there. About three days later, four days later, I had flew to Miami, literally got picked up from the airport, taken to my studio and made that beat that night. That was for Wayne. That was definitely for Wayne. I didn’t think he was gonna get on it, I had no idea. As far as hooks, I thought it was going to be all Wayne. But I went back to the studio that night and made that record. About three days later, I went back to Miami, I took him that beat and, yeah.

What have you and Wayne done together since he was released from prison and what can we expect?
We had that one record that I told you about, that first record that he’d done. There’s a couple ‘nother records that he was feeling. I’m gonna try to find out if he’s recorded over them. I’m probably going to see him in LA. I don’t know which records he’s done. So far, there’s one record that we’d spent two days on.

What’s the title of the track you and Wayne recorded after his release?
Damn, I don’t know what they’re going with or what theme is going to be. There are a couple of options. I don’t know if it’s “Weezy’s Home” or not. (He goes on to clarify that “Wayne’s World” and this record are not the same) I can find out what they’re going with, though.
