Rolling Stone just recently announced that Lil Wayne has extended his “I Am Still Music” tour through the summer. Weezy keeps Rick Ross as an opening act, but swaps Travis Barker, Porcelain Black and Nicki Minaj for Lloyd, Keri Hilson and Far East Movement. The tour will hit 40 cities in the US starting in Hartford, Connecticut on July 13 and ending in Woodlands, Texas on September 11. Above, Lil Wayne explains Drake‘s absence from the “I Am Still Music” tour and confirms that he will be touring overseas after the NBA finals this summer.

In a recent interview with MTV News’ Sway, Wayne once again explained Drake’s absence and understood from the fan’s standpoint how his protégé’s omission from the tour looked from the outside, sympathizing with the speculative remarks of Young Money supporters. “That’s just due to this world we live in today,” said the Young Money captain. “Because I remember back in the days when if someone wasn’t on tour then the first thing we’d think was they were doing a movie or they were doing something else that was productive.”

Wayne went on to add, “Nowadays if you don’t see somebody in the picture, then it’s ‘Oh, he’s leaving’ and he’s this and “Oh Wayne, you’re mad at this person’ and I don’t even deal with it man. I just get my money and call the shots.” – MTV

There have been reports all over the net recently saying Lil Wayne‘s visa has been denied from countries in Europe, because of his criminal record, but a rep for Tunechi has said they are untrue. This means that it is still possible Weezy will be touring in Europe this summer. Check out what Wayne‘s rep told XXL below:

“No visa was ever filed, nor were there any tour dates announced, or tickets sold,” a rep for the tour told XXLMag.com exclusively. “Lil Wayne is currently headlining his ‘I Am Still Music Tour’ across the U.S. and Canada with plans to extend the tour this summer. We hope to bring the ‘I Am Still Music Tour’ to the UK in the later half of the year.”

This is great news for us fans in Europe, and I’ll be for sure going to watch Tune live this summer if he is allowed in the UK!

We were going to include this video into another post on LilWayneHQ, but when we read what MTV put in their article, we just had to make a post for it. One of the film’s highlights is Wayne‘s reaction to Drake when he hears a verse from “Over” for the first time. In the scene, the two are freestyling in front of a green screen on the set of Drizzy’s “Miss Me” video.

“‘Bout to go Thriller, Mike Jackson on these niggas,” Drake raps. “All I need’s a fucking red jacket with some zippers/ Super good smiddoke, a package of the swishers.”

“Stop,” Wayne yells in admiration, as if to say Drake’s line was too good.

“I did it overnight, it couldn’t happen any quicker,” Drake continues. “Y’all know them? Well, fuck it, me either/ But point the biggest skeptic out, I’ll make him a believer/ It wouldn’t’ be the first time I done it/ Throwin’ hundreds when I should be throwin’ ones.”

Wayne, with a smile on his face yells, “Stop! You should be throwing ones, man.”

Every different website I have been on has gave a different release date for Lil Wayne‘s Rebirth album! Last we all heard was that the rock album was being released on February 1st just before Weezy goes to jail, but according to AllHipHop and Walmart we will be getting Rebirth in the Summer. The latest release date is 22nd June 2010.

The only reason I can think of the pushback is that Lil Wayne is re-doing all of the album since Amazon messed up and the album leaked. I have heard that there will be a new Prom Queen on the album (new lyrics and beat etc), and hopefully we will get the “On Fire” music video soon for a bit more promotion for Rebirth.
