Lil Wayne Plead Guilty To Arizona Charges & May Not Face Any Time!

Lil Wayne Plead Guilty To Arizona Charges & May Not Face Any Time

Rapper Lil Wayne may not have to spend any time behind bars in Arizona on drug and weapon charges once he gets out of jail in New York, after entering a plea agreement with prosecutors in Yuma County Superior Court Friday morning.

During a short change of plea hearing, in which he appeared via video feed from a New York jail, Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a dangerous drug. The charge stems from a Jan. 22, 2008, incident in which the rapper’s tour bus was stopped at a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint near Dateland, 78 miles east of Yuma, where authorities said they found cocaine, Ecstasy and a handgun on his tour bus.

A search of the bus by Drug Enforcement Administration agents yielded nearly four ounces of marijuana, just over an ounce of cocaine, 41 grams of Ecstasy and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia. DEA agents then arrested Carter.

Officials also found a .40-caliber pistol registered to Carter, who has a concealed weapons permit in Florida.

The Grammy Award-winning rapper is currently serving an eight-month jail term in New York after pleading guilty last October to attempted criminal possession of a weapon. He admitted to having a loaded .40-caliber semiautomatic gun on his tour bus. He began serving his sentence in March.

Carter, who has been one of music’s most profitable figures in recent years, could receive 36 months of probation for the Yuma charge, which is scheduled to begin once his New York sentence is over, according to the terms of the plea agreement.

In exchange for Carter‘s guilty plea, charges of possession of a narcotic drug for sale, misconduct involving weapons and possession of drug paraphernalia against him were dismissed.

Superior Court Judge Mark Wayne Reeves, who is presiding over the case, will sentence Carter at 8:15 a.m. on June 30. – YumaSun

This is great news :!: If Tunechi was found guilty, he could of been looking at another 8 or 10 years behind bars.

Judge Issues Bench Warrant To Lil Wayne In Arizona

Judge Issues Bench Warrant To Lil Wayne In Arizona

This week, a judge issued a bench warrant to Lil Wayne because he didn’t show up for a court appearance in Yuma, Arizona. Obviously, the reason why Weezy never turned up was because he is currently behind bars in New York… Yuma Country didn’t care though:

Deann Sandry (Yuma County prosecutor) said it was the state’s position that Lil Wayne is now a convicted felon and that a bench warrant should be issued and his bond be increased to $150,000.

Lil Wayne pled not guilty to drug and gun charges from a January 2008 arrest in Yuma. DEA agents stopped and searched his tour bus finding 105 grams of marijuana, 29 grams of cocaine, 41 grams of ecstasy pills, and a 40-caliber pistol.

This could turn out even worse for Wayne if he gets charged guilty :( You can also view Tunechi‘s ‘Inmate Lookup Page’ for Riker’s Island here.

Breaking: Lil Wayne Detained By Texas Border Patrol [Updated - Officials Say "Weed A Factor In Lil Wayne Incident"]

Breaking: Lil Wayne Detained By Texas Border Patrol

Lil’ Wayne is currently being detained at an interior border checkpoint in Texas, this according to a Border Patrol supervisor.

The Border Patrol is not releasing details about the incident — but we’re told Wayne has not been arrested. We’re told officials are still investigating.

Officials tell us 11 other members of Wayne’s entourage are also being detained.

The incident went down in the city of Falfurrias — roughly 100 miles from the Mexican border.

Props TMZ, and we will update this post as the story develops… didn’t something like this happen last time in Canada?

Here is an update from TMZ saying: “Weed is a factor in the Lil Wayne incident”:

Lil’ Wayne was rollin’ through Texas with marijuana on multiple tour buses, this according to the U.S. Border Patrol.

Border Patrol agents tell TMZ a random search of the vehicles uncovered a pot stash on two buses — but we’re told no drugs were found on Wayne’s person … or anyone else in the entourage.

Officials tell us a drug-sniffing K-9 unit picked up the scent outside the bus. Agents then walked the dogs onto the bus, where they located the weed.

As we first reported, Wayne and 11 members of his entourage are being detained at an internal B.P. checkpoint in southern Texas.

So far, no arrests have been made.
