Jeezy appears on Carmelo Anthony and Kazeem Famuyide‘s 7PM In Brooklyn podcast to talk about aging gracefully in hip-hop.
He explained that the key is staying true to yourself, being innovative, and never simply following someone else’s path.
During the conversation, Jeezy gave props to Lil Wayne and Andre 3000 for openly sharing their views on longevity.
He mentioned that artists like Mr. Carter don’t need to prove anything, even if their new music doesn’t always dominate charts.
“Wayne was the coldest,” Jeezy said, adding that everyone grew up as a fan of Weezy F Baby.
He stressed that whether people like the new material or not, it remains Tunechi‘s art and contribution to the culture.
Jeezy also pointed out that Tune has earned the freedom to create on his own terms, whenever and however he chooses.
