DMX Announces New Collaboration With Lil Wayne For His Album

DMX recently sat down with N.O.R.E. aka Noreaga and DJ EFN for an interview on the newest episode of their “Drink Champs” podcast that you can watch below.

At the 27:15 mark of their conversation, DMX revealed he has a new Lil Wayne feature for his upcoming currently untitled album, as well as features from Pop Smoke, the Griselda boys, Usher, Bono, Alicia Keys, The LOX, and Snoop Doog.

If you recall back to a few months ago in October, Wayne mentioned in an interview himself that he had just recorded a new verse for DMX, so this will more than likely be the feature the New York rapper is talking about! Are you looking forward to hearing a X and Weezy collaboration?

I have decided to share scans from Lil Wayne‘s cover story for the April 2008 issue of The Source magazine for #ThrowbackThursday today, which took place during a recording session on his tour bus for “Let The Beat Build” and “Lollipop” off Tha Carter III.

In his interview, Weezy spoke on his recording process, ghostwriting for Dr. Dre, being born to rap, why he is the best rapper alive, and shared his thoughts on people saying he is doing too many drugs.

“Everybody talking ’bout ‘the boy on too much drugs, Baby need to take him to rehab’ and all this shit. I want you to know one thing: a junkie can’t do what the fuck I do. Can’t no drug, can’t no bitch, can’t no money faze me. I am the ultimate high. It ain’t what I’m on, it’s what I do, and making great music is what the fuck I do.”

Tune also talked to C. Vernon Coleman II about playing the guitar, believing every album he has put out is a classic, his daughter Reginae Carter, owning all of his publishing and masters, and more!

While talking about if he is a bad influence on kids, Jake believes it is the parents role to monitor what kids watch online. He even goes on to prove his point by saying his role model growing up was Lil Wayne, who raps about drugs and curses frequently in his music, but he has turned out fine.
