RJ Payne Reveals How His Acknowledgement From Lil Wayne & Eminem Motivated Him To Go Even Harder

In a recent interview with Mikey T The Movie Star of Report Card Radio, Philadelphia’s very own RJ Payne discussed Lil Wayne and Eminem both revealing that they know about him and his music.

The Griselda affiliate explained that because he now he knows G.O.A.T.s like Weezy and Slim Shady are watching, it motivates him to go even harder with music and other work.

“I can’t even put that into words what it feels like to have the G.O.A.T.s know what I do and who I am without selling out.”

Even though he has never met Tunechi or had Tune reach out to him, RJ did also mention what inspiration he drew from this recent acknowledgement. Check it out below!

Lil Wayne Talks “Funeral”, Tyga, Favorite Song, Dropping More Mixtapes & Compilations From Young Money In The Future

Lil Wayne Talks Funeral, Tyga, Favorite Song, Dropping More Mixtapes In The Future & Compilations From Young Money

Emmanuel Maduakolam from HYPEBEAST Radio‘s “MIC/LINE” series chopped it up with Lil Wayne while promoting his new Young Money collection with fashion brand American Eagle on the rooftop of New Design High School in Manhattan on July 15th.

During their conversation, Weezy spoke on his new clothing line, what drew him to collaborate with American Eagle, being “embarrassed” but also “very grateful” for Tyga’s “Lightskin Lil Wayne” music video, motivation, not having a favorite album of his own, the latest song he records will always be his new favorite song, being excited for his Funeral album, sports, and shared advice for new music artists.

Tune also revealed that the night he won 4 GRAMMY Awards is the most fun he has had so far in his career (but he cannot remember it), he will not stop recording and releasing mixtapes even though he believes tapes are not that important in hip-hop anymore, why he remixes other artist’s beats on his mixtapes, and Young Mula will always drop compilations in the future.

You can listen to the full interview, which even included Tunechi mentioning Tyga is still on YM and that the Funeral title of his new album does not mean what you think it does, after the jump below!

Kobe Bryant Reveals Why Lil Wayne Created A Tribute Song For Him [Video]

Kobe Bryant Reveals Why Lil Wayne Created A Tribute Song For Him

Last month, Kobe Bryant made an appearance on Barstool’s “The Corp” podcast to chop it up with Alex “A-Rod” Rodriguez and Dan “Big Cat” Katz.

During their conversation, the former professional basketball player was asked how often does he listen to the “Kobe Bryant” song that Lil Wayne created for him back in 2009.

While answering the question, Kobe also revealed how the Weezy track came together after the 2009 Western Conference Finals where Bryant‘s Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Denver Nuggets in six games:

“It was after the Denver series, [Wayne] called me. He was like: ‘Man, that performance just motivated the hell out of me.’ I think it was like game six. He was like: ‘I’mma do a song. Is it okay, can I do a song?’ I was like: ‘alright, cool.’ Man I just thought he was just BS-ing or whatever. Before the Celtics series he sends me the song and I was like: ‘Oh, you were serious.’ Okay, that’s awesome.”

You can watch the former Lakers NBA athlete explain the story of Tunechi‘s “Kobe Bryant” record during the podcast from the 41:45 mark in the video after the jump below! Do you still listen to this tribute song from Tune?

Kevin Gates Thanks Lil Wayne For Motivating Him

Kevin Gates recently sat down with Sway Calloway for an interview to promote his new project, Luca Brasi 3, which was released on the same day as Tha Carter V.

During their conversation, Gates reflected on the time that Lil Wayne threatened to stop him from signing to any other record label if he didn’t sign a deal with Young Money Entertainment.

You can watch the Louisiana rapper share the story of what happened when he sat down at a table with Weezy, Mack Maine and Fee Banks, who was his manager at the time, after the jump below.

Even though he mentioned that it was the “scariest moment” of his life and remembers Tunechi say things like: “I’mma eat you”, Kevin shouted out Tune for his negotiation tactics as it ended up motivating him.

The two of them must be cool with each other now, because Wayne has shouted out Kevin Gates on his “Bugatti” freestyle off Dedication 5 and even tweeted out a link to his “Perfect Imperfection” song, which is also one of my favorite tracks from Gates!
