Lil Wayne Funeral Album Has Been Nominated At The 2021 GRAMMYs

The nominations for the 63rd annual GRAMMY Awards, which will be airing on January 31st on CBS, were announced yesterday and Lil Wayne‘s latest album, Funeral, earned a nod.

However, it is not Wayne that earned the nomination; it is art directors Kyle Goen and Alex Kalatschinow, who are the designers behind the official artwork for Funeral.

In the “Best Recording Package” category, Funeral will go up against other art directors for their work on Coldplay’s Everyday Life, Grouplove’s Healer, Caspian’s On Circles, and Desert Sessions’ Vols. 11 & 12 projects.

The nominations for the 2020 BET Hip-Hop Awards have been announced and Lil Wayne earned a total of one.

Tunechi was nominated in the “Best Collaboration” category for his work on the What’s Poppin” remix with Jack Harlow, Tory Lanez and DaBaby.

The nominations for the 62nd GRAMMY Awards have been announced and Lil Wayne has received a total of one.

Weezy was nominated in the “Best Compilation Soundtrack For Visual Media” category for his work on the Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse official movie soundtrack with his “Scared Of The Dark” song featuring Ty Dolla $ign and XXXTentacion.

According to U.S. Representative Cedric Richmond, when it comes to rap, Lil Wayne is one of New Orleans’ musical ambassadors and he puts him in the category of the city’s other musical legends like Aaron Neville, Fats Domino, and Louis Armstrong.

While walking through Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., Cedric also called Tunechi “one of the best lyricists of all time”, as well as revealed how important Tune is to NOLA and how happy he is that him and Birdman have resolved their issues.

This year’s MTV Video Music Awards nominations were announced yesterday and Lil Wayne picked up a nod in the “Best Hip-Hop” category.

The nomination Tunechi received was for DJ Khaled’s I’m The One” music video, which also features Justin Bieber, Quavo, and Chance The Rapper.
