Lil Wayne Talks Tha Carter V & Not Writing His Songs Down + Performs Dedicate Live On Jimmy Fallon Tonight Show

Last night, Lil Wayne made an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” to promote his new album, Tha Carter V.

During his sit-down interview, Weezy chatted to Jimmy Fallon about the nearly 5-year-long wait for C5‘s release, how he got into skateboarding, and studying his lyrics for his new songs as he doesn’t write them down.

Currensy Says Lil Wayne Will Be A Monster Now He Is An Independent Artist

Curren$y appeared on one of the latest episodes of Complex’s “Everyday Struggle” series to chop it up with DJ Akademiks and Nadeska.

During their conversation, Spitta revealed that he felt terrible seeing Lil Wayne go through his record label problems and because he is an independent artist himself, he knew how much of a “monster” Wayne could of been these past 4 years.

“From somebody who’s independent… I know how much of a monster he could be if he was doing it himself.”

The former Young Money artist also added that Tunechi has “gave his life” to skateboarding, mentioned Tune stays in the studio until 10:00AM, and answered “that’s all we do” when asked if they will ever work together again. Check out everything he said below!

Last week (July 13th), Lil Wayne hit up the Diamond Supply Co. indoor skate park in Los Angeles, California for a skating sesh.

After the skateboarding session, Spanish Mike gave Tunechi and Ricky Willis an early preview of the European Diamond Footwear Tour video.

Earlier this month, we got word that Lil Wayne played Tha Carter V for Harvey Soto (who said it “sounds crazy“), and now it looks like Wayne has played his forthcoming album for another professional skateboarder.

Shane O’Neill took to social media to write “C5 is coming out soon. For real” along with a goat emoji and the picture above of Weezy doing a BS Wallride skate trick in Los Angeles that was captured on camera by Jake Darwen.

In related news, an “unnamed source” confirmed to DJ Booth last month that Tunechi‘s Tha Carter V project is “tentatively slated for release later this year”. When do you think Tune will be dropping C5?

Lil Wayne Plays His Tha Carter V Album For Harvey Soto, Who Says It Sounds Crazy

I previously posted up footage on Friday of Lil Wayne skateboarding at the Diamond Supply Co. indoor skate park in Los Angeles, California on the 3-year anniversary of his Free Weezy Album.

Below, you can see some more new footage from the skating sesh that has surfaced online, courtesy of Spanish Mike, and it shows Harvey Soto skating with Weezy while “HollyWeezy” plays in the background.

On his social media pages, Harvey revealed getting to know Tunechi was a personal “highlight” for him and also said Tune invited him to his studio to listen to Tha Carter V, which he mentioned “sounds crazy”!
