Ezri Explains How Lil Wayne Inspired His Style Of Rap

Ezri was a recent guest on journalist Ari Melber‘s news show on American television network MSNBC, “The Beat With Ari Melber“.

During his appearance on the show, the rapper formerly known as Ezzy who is also signed to Nas spoke on various subjects that included him saying Lil Wayne is the person that inspired him the most to put thought and effort into writing his raps.

While being asked how he learned to flow like he does, the Cleveland rapper revealed that listening and seeing Wayne‘s authenticity, grittiness, crazy wordplay, and metaphors definitely inspired his style of rap. You can check out everything that Ezri told Ari in the video below!

During 2019 NBA All-Star Weekend, professional basketball player LaMarcus Aldridge participated in a little Q&A session.

For one of the questions, the San Antonio Spurs athlete was asked who would his All-Star rap roster be if he had to make a top 5 to which he responded with:

“My starting five on my rap roster? That’s tough. You all ask me questions that take time to figure out. Jay-Z, for sure. Wayne, J. Cole. I’m missing people I listen to all the time. Rick Ross. A little bit of everybody.”

During their conversation, Kelvin revealed that the rappers who inspired him the most are Lil Wayne, Meek Mill, 50 Cent and Dipset.

The Cleveland rapper then went into more detail about why Weezy is one of his biggest inspirations and that is because he came into the music industry hungry at a very young age.

Kelvin also recalled when Tunechi dropped his Da Drought mixtape around the same time that PSP (PlayStation Portable) came out and he used to play NBA 2K while listening to every Tune song. He even mentioned that watching Wayne‘s VH1 documentary about his life made him want to become a rapper!
