Lil Wayne Talks Keeping In Touch With Inmates & Correctional Officers From Jail, Retiring From A Certain Beat, Birdman, Drake & More

Jasmine Simpkins from HipHollywood recently sat down with Lil Wayne for a one on one interview about his “Gone ‘Til November: A Journal of Rikers Island” book that you can check out below.

During their conversation, Weezy discussed why he wrote the book in jail, not planning to release it, what he hopes people will get out of reading it, if he keeps in touch with any of the inmates and C.O.’s, the celebrity visits he got while locked up, and getting the news that Drake had sexual relations with one of his girlfriends.

Tunechi also revealed his “retirement tweets” last month was him meaning that he is not going to be rapping on a certain type of beat no more, he will always drop mixtapes for us fans, and his relationship with Birdman:

How are you with Baby, do you think you guys will have a friendship again?
I’m 34 baby, I’m too old for friends.

You guys were more like family…
No, his last name isn’t Carter baby, he’s not family.

As we already know, Lil Wayne will be adding to his filmography in 10 days (September 29th) when he makes an appearance on FOX’s upcoming new television series, “Grandfathered“, which was previously titled “Grandpa“.

HipHollywood recently caught up with John Stamos, who is one of the TV show’s stars, as well as the show’s creator Daniel Chun at the PaleyFest Fall TV Previews event to ask them about Weezy‘s acting skills.

Lil Wayne #4 On Forbes Cash Kings List

Forbes recently announced their Cash Kings list for 2011 showing hip hop’s top 20 earners. Lil Wayne tied with Birdman for fourth spot banking in $15 million, which I am sure is mostly from his “I Am Still Music” tour. Young Money’s Drake and Nicki Minaj also made the list too – making Nicki the first female to ever make the list. You can check out the full list after the jump below, along with T-Pain telling HipHollywood that he gave a song to Weezy for his Tha Carter IV album called “How To Hate“.
