Lil Wayne Earns 3 Nominations At The 2023 GRAMMY Awards - And 2 More

The nominations for the 65th Annual Grammy Awards have been announced and Lil Wayne has received a total of three.

Wayne was nominated in the “Song Of The Year”, “Best Rap Performance” and “Best Rap Song” categories all for his work on DJ Khaled’s “God Did” single, which also features Rick Ross, JAY-Z, John Legend and Fridayy.

Both Khaled’s God Did and Jack Harlow’s Come Home The Kids Miss You albums are nominated in the “Best Rap Album” category, and Machine Gun Kelly’s Mainstream Sellout project is nominated in the “Best Rock Album” category. I believe this means that if any of these albums win, Weezy will receive a Grammy award as he is featured on them.

For the ceremony, the 2023 GRAMMYs will be taking place February 5th from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California. You can see what competition Tunechi has after the jump below. Good luck Tune!

Lil Wayne recently participated in a 1-hour conversation with former American football player Marcellus Wiley on his “More To It” podcast, which is a show featuring interviews with entertainers.

In their convo, Wayne discussed growing up in the 17th Ward of New Orleans, signing to Cash Money Records, dressing up as Michael Jackson and performing for his family at a young age (this is when he realized he loved performing), his late stepfather Rabbit, the Cash Money/Ruff Ryders tour, Slim Williams, the moment when Birdman and Slim knew he was a solo artist and not a Hot Boy anymore, and being a student of the game every single day.

Also during their talk, Weezy spoke on wanting to become the ultimate music artist, how it feels to be in the conversation for the greatest rapper of all time, Roger Federer being the G.O.A.T. in tennis, playing tennis himself with his homie T@, the time he said he does not believe in racism on “Undisputed”, what he would tell his older self if he could go back in time, the Green Bay Packers, preferring American football over basketball, preferring Los Angeles over Miami, and what the hardest part and the best part about being Lil Wayne is.

For a new episode of “The Skip Bayless Show” (watch below), the American sports columnist and commentator discussed attending Lil Wayne‘s private early 40th birthday party at The Nice Guy restaurant in L.A., California on September 25th.

As the event was on an NFL Sunday evening, Skip said there was “very few people” he would do this for as the Monday viewings on his “Undisputed” show are so important to himself and the show.

Bayless mentioned that when Weezy arrived to his birthday bash, he went straight over to his wife Ernestine to say “he’s [Skip] still here, you got to get him to bed”. He also added that he congratulated Tune for his Green Bay Packers team beating Tom Brady and his Tampa Bay Buccaneers team 14 – 12!
