Throwback Thursday: Scans Of Lil Wayne’s Cover Story For The Source Magazine’s April 2008 Issue

Scans Of Lil Wayne Cover Story For The Source Magazine April 2008 Issue

I have decided to share scans from Lil Wayne‘s cover story for the April 2008 issue of The Source magazine for #ThrowbackThursday today, which took place during a recording session on his tour bus for “Let The Beat Build” and “Lollipop” off Tha Carter III.

In his interview, Weezy spoke on his recording process, ghostwriting for Dr. Dre, being born to rap, why he is the best rapper alive, and shared his thoughts on people saying he is doing too many drugs.

“Everybody talking ’bout ‘the boy on too much drugs, Baby need to take him to rehab’ and all this shit. I want you to know one thing: a junkie can’t do what the fuck I do. Can’t no drug, can’t no bitch, can’t no money faze me. I am the ultimate high. It ain’t what I’m on, it’s what I do, and making great music is what the fuck I do.”

Tune also talked to C. Vernon Coleman II about playing the guitar, believing every album he has put out is a classic, his daughter Reginae Carter, owning all of his publishing and masters, and more!

Lil Wayne Sells His Masters For More Than $100 Million

Lil Wayne Sold His Masters For More Than 100 Million

According to TMZ, Lil Wayne‘s former manager Ronald Sweeney has filed a lawsuit against the New Orleans rapper for over $20 million.

Ronald says Wayne hired him back in 2005 to help renegotiate his deal with Cash Money Records, which we know was also another lawsuit that finally got settled in 2018. However, the attorney claims he only got a few payments for his work and is now suing Weezy for the full cut.

In the suit that was filed by lawyer Ed McPherson, Ronald Sweeney also mentions he was asked by Lil Wayne to fire Cortez Bryant in 2018 over a conflict of interest in a legal dispute about who Drake was signed to. After doing so, Sweeney claims Tez and Mack Maine then conspired to cause a disagreement and anger between himself and Tunechi in which it ended with Tune firing the attorney.

The craziest part of this lawsuit is that Wayne sold his masters to Universal Music Group in June of this year for more than $100 million. Ronald Sweeney is using this to say Mr. Carter does have the money to pay him what he is owed.

The Original Version Of Lil Wayne’s “Tha Carter V” Album To Be Released Officially This Friday [Video]

The Original Version Of Lil Wayne Tha Carter V Album To Be Released Officially This Friday

To celebrate Lil Wayne‘s 38th birthday and the 2-year anniversary of Tha Carter V, the original version of C5 will be released this Friday (September 25th) as a deluxe edition.

While presenting Tunechi with a 2020 McLaren 720S for an early birthday gift, Mack Maine revealed this news in the car as “Life Of Mr. Carter” played in the background.

However, we can hear one line on “Life Of Mr. Carter” that seems to have been changed (“Or to propose and get I don’t know… I don’t know” to “Or to break hearts and get your heart broken, I don’t know”), so I’m not too sure if there will be many changes from the actual OG version which leaked.

Are you happy with this news? I’m buzzing one of my favorite ever Weezy songs in “Scottie Pippen” aka “Scottie” is getting an official release!
