Playboi Carti Says He Deals With His Music Leaking By Watching Lil Wayne Documentaries

Playboi Carti Says He Deals With His Music Leaking By Watching Lil Wayne Documentaries

After recently revealing it was Lil Wayne who influenced him to freestyle all of his music, Playboi Carti has praised Wayne once again in a new interview.

For his cover story with Inked magazine, Playboi spoke on how he took inspiration from Weezy to cope with having his music leak in 2019:

“At this point, to keep myself sane, I just go home and watch Lil Wayne documentaries and see how he went through all this sh*t. I used to be one of those fans downloading his music on Limewire and sh*t, because I was a diehard. And he went platinum the first week off this sh*t.”

Of course Carti is talking about how Tunechi had a huge amount of music leak in the buildup to his Tha Carter III album in 2008, which then made Tune record a whole new C3 that ended up selling a million copies in the first week!

Un Kasa Reveals Juelz Santana & Lil Wayne Are Planning To Release A Whole New Version Of “I Can’t Feel My Face” [Video]

Un Kasa Reveals Juelz Santana & Lil Wayne Are Planning To Release A New Version Of I Cant Feel My Face

In a brand new interview with Mikey T The Movie Star from Report Card Radio, Dipset’s very own Un Kasa revealed Juelz Santana and Lil Wayne have a whole new joint album together that they plan to release.

At the 4:45 mark of their conversation, Un Kasa shared stories of witnessing the recording process for the original I Can’t Feel My Face project by saying Juelz and Wayne recorded a few collaborations together in the studio, but the majority of it was sent back and forth via e-mail.

The Diplomats associate goes on to recall how Santana would e-mail a song to Tunechi and then 30 minutes later, Tune would e-mail him back with the verse done. Un Kasa also spoke on how Weezy recorded 2 songs for Skull Gang (Juelz’s hip-hop group) on the day that he found out he went Platinum in the first week with Tha Carter III that are still unreleased to this day.

You can check out the interview in a video after the jump below. Even though Un Kasa reveals the OG version of ICFMF never dropped because neither Juelz Santana or Lil Wayne could figure out the business side of it, are you looking forward to hearing the new version of their long-awaited collab album?

The RIAA Update Certifications For 7 Albums & 23 Singles By Lil Wayne

It’s about time! Lil Wayne‘s team have finally updated his certifications with the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

I have listed the new Tunechi plaques for his albums and singles after the jump below. With “Lollipop” now being at 8x Platinum, I think it has a huge chance to be Tune‘s very first Diamond record.

PS: There has also been an image going around on social media with these new Weezy RIAA certifications, but there are 3 mistakes on it. I don’t know about you, but I hate how people rush to create things for likes and retweets without focusing on getting the correct information first. Then people will retweet without getting the facts themselves and spread more fake news around!
