Wanted to give a quick history on The Empire’s Drought is Over series to clear some of the questions I saw. Firstly, Drought is Over mixtapes are unofficial and not certified by Lil Wayne or Young Money. The series has thrived on a connection inside the YM camp who has leaked track to The Empire.
The Drought is Over (Part 1) – Released in Summer of 2007 it was a collection of leaks from Wayne’s famous “Da Drought 3″ (don’t confuse the similarity in names) mixtape that was hosted by DJ Khaled.
The Drought is Over 2: The Carter 3 Sessions – Released in Mid-2007 Probably the best in the TDIO series. A collection of leaks from The Carter 3 includes famous tracks like “Scarface”, “Kush”, “Something You Forgot”, “Help”, “I’m a Beast”, and many others.
The Drought is Over 3: Who is the Predator? – Released in Mid-2007 half of this tape included tracks from Jadakiss. The Wayne tracks on this tape were another collection of Carter 3 leaks.
The Drought is Over 4: Return to The Carter 3 Sessions – Released in October of 2007, Another famous set of Carter 3 leaks were on this tape. Includes original leaks of “Need Some Quiet”, “Ask Them Hoes, “Brand new”, and many many more.
The Drought is Over 5: Grand Closing – Released in the Summer of 2008 when The Carter 3 finally dropped. This tape had a few new leaks and C3 leftovers, it was probably going to be the last tape in the series but we eventually came back.
The Drought is Over 6: The Reincarnation – Released in late 2008 shortly after Dedication 3 came out. More exclusive leaks and mixes.
