A Rare Lil Wayne Interview With DJ Felli Fel Backstage At 2008 Powerhouse

For #ThrowbackThursday today, here is a rare Lil Wayne interview with DJ Felli Fel that took place backstage of Power 106 FM’s annual “Powerhouse” concert at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California on June 21st, 2008.

In their conversation, Weezy talked about wanting to see The Game and Ice Cube perform live at Powerhouse, being surprised he sold 1.5 million records with Tha Carter III in less than a month of it being released, and more.

Tunechi also spoke on recording features for The Pussycat Dolls and Chris Brown earlier in the day, as well as already working on Tha Carter IV after the C3 release. You can check out their rare convo after the jump below!

As it is #ThrowbackThursday today, here is a video of Kanye West bringing Lil Wayne up on stage with him at the BET Awards back in 2008.

Kanye beat out Tunechi, Common, Jay Z, and Snoop Dogg to win the “Best Male Hip-Hop Artist” and for his acceptance speech (see below), he made sure to bring Tune along with him.

During his speech, Yeezy said the following about Weezy: “My fiercest competition, you scare me man, every tune you spit. Congratulations on selling over 1 million records… they say hip-hop is dead”!

For this week’s “Feature Friday” installment, I have picked a rock song from Fall Out Boy titled “Tiffany Blews” featuring a short auto-tuned guest appearance from Lil Wayne.

The Fall Out Boy and Neal Avron-co-produced track appears on the American rock band’s fourth studio album, Folie à Deux, which was released back in 2008.
