Lil Wayne Appears On BET 106 & Park To Promote 500 Degreez Album

Similar to the posts earlier this month and at the end of March, I have decided to do another #ThrowbackThursday article for today here on LilWayneHQ.com.

For this week’s throwback post, you can watch Lil Wayne pay a visit to BET’s “106 & Park” television show back in 2002 to promote his 500 Degreez album. He was joined later on by Birdman, Mannie Fresh and TQ.

In his interview, Wayne spoke on why the 500 Degreez project title is similar to Juvenile’s 400 Degreez album name, having the very first sample on Cash Money Records with “Don’t Look Any Further” on his “Way Of Life” single, and more! Have you seen it before?

A Very Rare Lil Wayne Interview About Young Money, Sqad Up, Being Engaged To Nivea & More

For #ThrowbackThursday, here is a rare Lil Wayne interview with Peaches Records music retailer in New Orleans, Louisiana that took place in April, 2003.

During their conversation, Weezy discussed his Young Money record label, Juvenile signing back to Cash Money Records, the Sqad Up group, advice for someone wanting to start a label or get into the entertainment business, his Tha Carter album, being engaged to Nivea, and more.

Some of you will have already seen the freestyle part at the end, which is Tunechi spitting his “Monster Music” song off SQ6 over The Notorios B.I.G.’s “I Got A Story To Tell” instrumental.

You can check out the super rare Tune interview for #ThrowbackThursday after the jump below, courtesy of the bro Martian Master. Have you seen it before? Don’t lie!

Q-Tip Calls Lil Wayne One Of His Favorite Rappers, Says He Is “An Ill Lyricist”

Q-Tip Calls Lil Wayne One Of His Favorite Rappers, Says He Is An Ill Lyricist

Q-Tip recently took part in an interview with Noisey and during their conversation, he had some nice words to say about Lil Wayne:

“I love Wayne. I think he’s a fucking beast. He’s an ill lyricist. He’s a prodigy. I love to do stuff with him. And that’s my boy, too. We talk sports and all of that shit. Yeah man, he’s acutely intelligent. Highly intelligent, skilled. He’s just got so much soul. I could go on and on about him. He’s one of my favorites, as an MC, as a visionary—like, he’s just dope. He’s just so dope. He’s fucking brilliant… he’s just a cool motherfucker, man. He really is. He’s a special guy. And I really love, like, Tha Block Is Hot, 500 Degreez, all that early stuff, too.”

The two of them have previously collaborated on “Renaissance Rap” and “Thank You“. What are your thoughts on Tip‘s praise for Weezy?

Kendrick Lamar Reacts To Lil Wayne Saying He Will Quit Music, Raps Old Wayne Verses Word For Word [Video]

Kendrick Lamar Reacts To Lil Wayne Saying He Will Quit Music, Raps Old Wayne Verses Word For Word

Like everyone else, Kendrick Lamar does not want Lil Wayne to quit or retire from music! The Compton rapper, who had been drinking, recorded a public service announcement of himself talking to the camera about Wayne and rapping his old verses word for word at 5:30AM this morning.

K. Dot‘s reaction to hearing Tunechi wanted to leave hip-hop was “Fuck that!”, as well as shouted “No!” more than a few times. He also mentioned that he was in the studio working on features and he can remember Tune back in 2007-2008 knocking out “ten motherfucking features in a row… back to back”.

The old Weezy verses that Kendrick was rapping are: “Gangsta Shit” off 500 Degreez, “Ridin’” off Guerrilla Warfare, “Respect My Mind” off Guerrilla Warfare, and “Where You At” off 500 Degreez. You can check out the 3-minute-and-a-half clip after the jump below!
