Kanye West Brings Lil Wayne Up On Stage During BET Awards Win In 2008

As it is #ThrowbackThursday today, here is a video of Kanye West bringing Lil Wayne up on stage with him at the BET Awards back in 2008.

Kanye beat out Tunechi, Common, Jay Z, and Snoop Dogg to win the “Best Male Hip-Hop Artist” and for his acceptance speech (see below), he made sure to bring Tune along with him.

During his speech, Yeezy said the following about Weezy: “My fiercest competition, you scare me man, every tune you spit. Congratulations on selling over 1 million records… they say hip-hop is dead”!

Lil Wayne Nominated 4 Times At 2012 BET Awards x Pics Of Weezy At Street League Finals

The nominations for the 12th Annual BET Awards were announced yesterday at a press conference in New York City. This year’s BET Awards will be hosted by Samuel L. Jackson and take place in Los Angeles at the Shrine Auditorium on July 1st.

Lil Wayne and Drake received 4 nominations each even though they are all in the same categories: “Best Male Hip-Hop Artist”, “Best Collaboration” for “I’m On One” and “The Motto“, and “Viewers’ Choice Award” for “The Motto“. Tyga was also nominated twice for his featured verse on “The Motto” and Nicki Minaj received one nomination for “Best Female Hip-Hop Artist”.

It has been confirmed that Nicki will be performing at the awards show, but there is no word yet on if Weezy or anyone else from YMCMB will be performing.

After the jump, you can view some pictures of Tunechi at the Street League 2012 Finals, which is a skateboarding competition that took place in Kansas City, Missouri on May 18th at the Sprint Center.

The nominees for the 2011 BET Awards were announced last night, and Lil Wayne and Young Money’s Drake, Nicki Minaj and Tyga picked up a total of 13 nominations together! Weezy got nominated for “Best Male Hip Hop Artist“, “Best Collaboration“, “Video Of The Year“, and “Viewers’ Choice Award“, Drizzy got nominated for “Best Male Hip Hop Artist“, “Best Collaboration” and “Viewers’ Choice Award“, Nicki got nominated for “Best Female Hip Hop Artist” and “Viewers’ Choice Award“, and Tygaman got nominated for “Best Collaboration“.

The show, which will be hosted by Kevin Hart, will air live on June 26 from Los Angeles, and you can see a full list of the nominees below:
