Lil Wayne Appears On I Am Athlete, Talks Longevity, Legacy, Creativity, Rap & More

Lil Wayne was the recent special guest on episode 22 of “I Am Athlete“, which included him sitting down with former NFL players Brandon Marshall, Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson and Adam “Pac-Man” Jones, as well as Omar Kelly for an interview.

During their sit-down talk, Wayne spoke about everything from longevity, if he wants to leave a legacy, evolving in music, seeing the potential in Nicki Minaj and Drake, recording 10,000 Bars with DJ Raj Smoove, and the early parts of his career.

Weezy also discussed his creativity, where he thinks rap is going, the new artists he is currently listening to (Baby Keem and Young Dolph), his artist Euro, what he thinks Aaron Rodgers will do with the Green Bay Packers, why he is a Packers fan, and much more.

Also in their conversation, Ochocinco challenged Tunechi to a rap cypher that included the rappers Lil Dred, Jag, Gorditoflo, Euro, and more. You can check it all out in the video after the jump below!

Lil Wayne Talks Tha Carter 5, Retirement, Hot Boys, Music & More In An Unpublished Interview

Back in early 2015, we saw Lil Wayne on the front cover of NYLON Guys magazine’s December 2014/January 2015 issue and read his cover story. Over a year later, the full unpublished interview that Jeff Weiss did with Wayne in Miami has surfaced online.

Weezy chatted about a lot of things including Tha Carter V, Mannie Fresh having 2 beats on the upcoming album, always listening to his Tha Carter albums, recording one of them overseas, retirement, and weed helping his creativity.

He also spoke on if jail changed him in any way, suffering from seizures, “Georgia Bush“, his favorite subject in school, Hot Boys, his favorite rapper of all time, religion, what he shares in common with Kobe Bryant, skateboarding, what he hopes people who listen to C5 will take away from him as an artist, and plenty more.

Yesterday, Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock met Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. aka Lil Wayne inside a studio.

If you are wondering why they met up, it is because Johnson is currently shooting a series with his Seven Bucks Productions business about how iconic artists and their music has been impacted by historical events.

Weezy revealed to The Rock about how he got creative inspiration from events such as Hurricane Katrina, which destroyed his hometown New Orleans, and 9/11 as he was in New York City for when the 9/11 terrorist attacks happened.

The actor and semi-retired professional wrestler also mentioned that he has been a huge fan of Tunechi since the Hot Boys days, which is pretty cool!
