Throwback Thursday: Scans Of Lil Wayne’s Cover Story For Ozone Magazine’s 2006 Issue

Scans Of Lil Wayne Cover Story For Ozone Magazine 2006 Issue

For #ThrowbackThursday today, I have decided to share scans from Lil Wayne‘s cover story for the February 2006 issue of Ozone magazine, which took place a few months after his Tha Carter II album had been released in stores.

In an interview with Julia Beverly for the mag, Weezy discussed everything from Hurricane Katrina (even though he was tired of talking about it), why he was not trying to be Jay-Z on his C2 album cover, wanting everyone to stop categorizing him, going to the University of Houston for Psychology classes, and deciding it was time to be a CEO.

What’s going on between you and B.G.? He put out a song dissing you, and I heard you were shouting “Fuck B.G.” at a recent show.
My album is in stores now, Tha Carter II, It’s my fifth solo album. It’s number two on the charts.

I’m sure everyone’s been asking you about your relationship with Trina. Are you open to talking about that?
No.

You’re trying to keep your relationship away from the public eye?
I ain’t tryin’. I am.

You can check out scans from Tunechi‘s cover story below that also includes him talking about touring with Jeezy and T.I., creating songs for different cities and sending them to DJs, his daughter Reginae Carter and why he would not let her be a rapper because he doesn’t think it is a good game for females, and much more!

Lil Wayne Models The BAPE x UGG SS19 Campaign [Photo Shoot + Interview]

Lil Wayne Models The BAPE x UGG SS19 Campaign

A Bathing Ape and UGG have partnered up together for their new spring/summer 2019 campaign and grabbed Lil Wayne for the face it.

At a mansion in Miami back in November, 2018, Tunechi participated in a photo shoot for BAPE and UGG‘s new collaboration. He had the following to say about working with the two brands:

“It’s an honor cause BAPE is one of the clothing lines that I still remember saving my money to buy. I still remember making sure nobody else I seen in my city got my hoodie. Now, they got me involved with it? Curren$y was into BAPE. He rocked it for real. But as far as what got me into it, I think just seeing it on Pharrell and being like: ‘What is that colorful camouflage? I need that.'”

“I was one of them who’d set out in them when they were saying it was only for girls. I’d step out in them and kick your day in your face with ’em.”

The line for the SS19 campaign that will be available at the end of this month includes three UGG footwear styles (the Classic Mini – $350, Neumel – $350, and Tasman – $275), a sheepskin Mouton Coat – $3,500, and a pair of mitten gloves – $180, which have all been designed with BAPE‘s famous camo print.

In April, Wayne will also collaborate with the two fashion brands again when A Bathing Ape and UGG release their second campaign that will include a sheepskin slide and sneaker. You can check out plenty pictures captured by Neil Favila of Tune modelling this first campaign below!

Monsta Beatz Talk Producing Migos & Lil Wayne Fantastic Collaboration, Reveal They Had A Song Pulled From Tha Carter V Last Minute

Monsta Beatz recently chopped it up with Thedo and MAQ on episode 89 of his “DaTakeOver” podcast (who have chatted with Fee Banks and Mannie Fresh in the past) for an hour, which you can listen to below.

During their conversation from the 32:40 mark, the New Orleans production duo revealed Lil Wayne is the most mainstream music artist that they have worked with. If you didn’t already know, they produced Wayne‘s “I’m Good” featuring Lucci Lou off No Ceilings, as well as “Vizine“.

The producers also spoke about receiving a phone call from Universal Music Group about having a beat on Tha Carter V; however, the song was pulled last minute. They even added that they produced Migos’ upcoming “Fantastic” collabo with Tunechi, which we heard a snippet for in 2015, and discussed producing Curren$y’s “442” track featuring Tune and Birdman!
