Lil Wayne Talks To SMACK DVD About Nearly Signing To JAY-Z, Juvenile Beef, Birdman Loyalty & More

Just like last week, I have decided to do another #ThrowbackThursday post here on LilWayneHQ.com, so if you would like to see me make this a weekly thing on this website, please let me know in the comments section below.

In today’s throwback clip, which you can check out below, Lil Wayne can be seen giving an interview to SMACK on his tour bus for their iconic street DVD series. This part appeared in SMACK DVD Volume 13 and it was filmed in 2006 after the release of Wayne‘s Tha Carter II album.

During their conversation, Weezy (who was rocking a purple BAPE zip-up hoodie) spoke on T-Streets thriving on smacking people, Trina, speaking to JAY-Z about signing to his record label after Birdman gave him the go-ahead, his beef with Juvenile, signing deals with Reebok and Billionaire Boys Club, his loyalty for Baby, and more!

“Dude may of dissed me or whatever, but I get paid. So when you gettin’ paid, you can’t really look at it. Now if I was hurtin’ it might be a murder or somethin’, but I’m gettin’ paid”

Baby E Shares Interesting Stories From Touring & Being In The Studio With Lil Wayne

Baby E Shares Interesting Stories From Touring & Being In The Studio With Lil Wayne

Baby E recently chopped it up with The Deep Cuts Podcast for an interview, which you can listen to below.

During their conversation, E spoke on his Kill The Noise project, upcoming music, his “Finessin” single, switching from Def Jam to Young Money, how he actually got signed to YM, being managed by Mack Maine, who his favorite underground music artists are, and plenty more.

The Young Money rapper also discussed how Lil Wayne was an inspiration and hero to him while growing up, having the best chemistry with Wayne and Lil Twist in the studio, how Weezy is a big part of his sound, and shared stories from touring with Young Mula.

Before the interview wrapped up, Baby E revealed he has never seen anyone work as hard as Tunechi, as well as how he has witnessed Tune and his engineer work in a studio for 12 – 16 hours from starting at 6AM. He even mentioned that himself and YM all participated in a game by putting money into a jar and the first person to catch Mr. Carter sleeping would win all the money (which had over $5,000.00 in it). However, E says no one won!

First Week Sales For 2 Chainz’ Album Dedicated To Lil Wayne “ColleGrove”

First Week Sales For 2 Chainz Album Dedicated To Lil Wayne ColleGrove

The first week sales for ColleGrove are in! The project, which was released via Def Jam Recordings last week on March 3rd, had 35,340 sales. However, that total increases to 50,735 if you count streaming.

I know ColleGrove was a 2 Chainz solo album in the end, but I thought I would keep posting updates about the project considering it was an album dedicated to Lil Wayne and had Wayne featured on nearly every song.

Don’t forget that you will also be able to purchase a physical copy of ColleGrove in stores on March 25th that may possibly include new collabos from Tity and Weezy! What are your thoughts on the first week sales?

2 Chainz & Lil Wayne To Release A Physical Version Of “ColleGrove”, Possibility Of New Songs

2 Chainz & Lil Wayne To Release A Physical Version Of ColleGrove, Possibility Of New Songs

Def Jam Recordings have confirmed that 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne‘s collaboration album, ColleGrove, will be released in stores later this month. You can already stream or purchase the project online digitally, but you will also be able to buy a physical copy on March 25th.

Even though nothing has been confirmed yet, there may be extra songs on the physical version of ColleGrove as the bro A$AP Retro spotted Tity Boi commenting on one of his Instagram posts: “yea plenty songs ain’t make it [ColleGrove] but stay tuned we gon’ find a home for them”.

This would also make sense as the preview we heard at Christmas of a Chainz and Weezy collabo didn’t even end up appearing on ColleGrove! Will you be copping a physical of the joint album?

Love & Hip Hop’s Peter Gunz & Cisco Discuss Lil Wayne & Birdman’s Feud [Video]

Love & Hip Hop Peter Gunz & Cisco Discuss Lil Wayne & Birdman Feud

Love & Hip Hop’s Cisco and Peter Gunz, who is also the father to Young Money’s Cory Gunz, sat down with Hip-Hop Wired last week for an interview about Lil Wayne wanting to leave Cash Money Records.

Cisco believes that it’s all just a promo stunt and says that if it was real, Birdman wouldn’t let Weezy F Baby out of his deal anyway. Peter also thinks that the feud is not real if it’s just about Baby not letting Weezy release his Tha Carter V album.

However, Gunz will believe the feud is legit if it goes further than just the album not getting a release date. He even mentioned that Tunechi and Birdman have been down this road before when Tune was entertaining Jay about signing to Def Jam.

You can watch the Love & Hip Hop cast share their thoughts on this situation after the jump below!
