Bijan Amir Reveals He Hates The Bing James Beat He Produced For Lil Wayne

Bijan Amir recently chopped it up with Battle Of The Beat Makers TV for a virtual interview, which you can watch below.

Around the 2:10 mark of their conversation, Amir spoke on producing Lil Wayne‘s “Bing James” song featuring Jay Rock off the Funeral album by saying he hates it and thought the instrumental was trash.

The multi-Platinum selling producer from Toronto went on to say that he made the “Bing James” beat very quickly and didn’t even fully finish it before Wayne wanted to purchase it from him. He also added that Weezy was the music artist who made him want to get into producing!

Production coordinator DJ Folk recently participated in a Q&A (question and answer) session with a Lil Wayne Discord server that you can read in full below.

Before the Q&A, Folk actually revealed that Jeezy has 2 unreleased songs with Wayne – one from 2011 that was produced by Drumma Boy and one from the 2014 Like Father, Like Son 2 sessions. He also mentioned producer AJayOnes has 3 more 2014 collaborations with Weezy that were recorded for Tha Carter V including one that was code named “Emergency“.

In the interview, DJ Folk discussed the I Am Not A Human Being II sessions, first meeting Tunechi, the “Life Of Mr. Carter” track, if he believes Kanye West “sabotaged” IANAHB2, wanting to get Amy Winehouse featured on “Kidnap Cupid” that was produced by Megaman, sending in a beat for a Tune and Kevin Gates collab that is still unreleased to this day, the Funeral album, his favorite Mr. Carter leak, there being at least 2000 unreleased Lil Wayne records in a vault, and much more!

Lil Wayne Speaks Out About The Grammy Awards For The Second Time In 3 Months

Yesterday afternoon (March 15th), Lil Wayne took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the Grammy Awards with a simple tweet:

“Fuk the Grammys”

There is currently no word on what made Weezy tweet this message; whether it was due to not getting an invite to the annual awards show or not receiving a nomination (his Funeral album was nominated in the “Best Recording Package” category, but unfortunately didn’t win).

This is not the first time that Tunechi has spoke out against the Grammys as just a few months ago in December, Tune tweeted this: “As an artist, when I see da Grammys coming up & I’m not involved nor invited; I wonder. Is it me , my musik, or just another technicality? I look around w respect & wonder competitively am I not worthy?! Then I look around & see 5 Grammys looking bak at me & I go to the studio.”

Lil Wayne Funeral Album Is Now Eligible For Gold

In just under a year of being released, Lil Wayne‘s Funeral album is now eligible for Gold status.

According to UKMIX, the thirteenth solo studio album from Weezy has moved 500,000 units in the United States of America alone; making it eligible for a Gold certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

However, Funeral is not “officially” Gold until Tunechi‘s record label decide to certify it! When do you expect the project to go Platinum?

Billboard have released their end of the year statistics for 2020 and in this post, you can find out which placements Lil Wayne had on the charts.

Weezy appeared at #54 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Album chart with Funeral, #13 on the Hot 100 Song chart with Jack Harlow’s What’s Poppin” remix, #127 on the Billboard 200 Album chart with Funeral, and #5 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Song chart once again for his work on Jack Harlow’s “What’s Poppin” remix.

Other positions by Billboard include Tunechi being the 83rd most successful Top Artist, the 45th most successful Top R&B/Hip-Hop Artist, and the 60th Billboard 200 Artist of this year! What do you think of Tune‘s placements in 2020?
