As it is #ThrowbackThursday today, we can check out a Lil Wayne interview with 97.9 The Box radio station in Houston, Texas from back in 2007 around Christmas time.

In the conversation, Weezy talked about his passion for rap, his tattoos including getting Jay Z’s “Lucky Me” song title tattooed on his neck and lyrics from the verse on his leg (he used them at the end of “Mr. Carter” too), creating his “Gossip” track, what he wanted for Christmas, what presents he bought his daughter Reginae Carter for Christmas, and much more.

Tunechi also discussed being too famous and how that effects his privacy, the white cup, his relationship with Karrine Steffans aka Superhead, what New Year’s resolution he had, appearing on “The Boondocks“, Stacey Dash, his thoughts on the GRAMMY Awards, and revealed his favorite collaborations at that moment in time were Natasha Bedingfield’s “Love Like This” remix and Playaz Circle’s “Duffle Bag Boys” single. Lil Wayne Speaks Out About The Grammy Awards For The Second Time In 3 Months

Lil Wayne Speaks Out About The Grammy Awards For The Second Time In 3 Months

Yesterday afternoon (March 15th), Lil Wayne took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the Grammy Awards with a simple tweet:

“Fuk the Grammys”

There is currently no word on what made Weezy tweet this message; whether it was due to not getting an invite to the annual awards show or not receiving a nomination (his Funeral album was nominated in the “Best Recording Package” category, but unfortunately didn’t win).

This is not the first time that Tunechi has spoke out against the Grammys as just a few months ago in December, Tune tweeted this: “As an artist, when I see da Grammys coming up & I’m not involved nor invited; I wonder. Is it me , my musik, or just another technicality? I look around w respect & wonder competitively am I not worthy?! Then I look around & see 5 Grammys looking bak at me & I go to the studio.”

Lil Wayne Funeral Album Has Been Nominated At The 2021 GRAMMYs

The nominations for the 63rd annual GRAMMY Awards, which will be airing on January 31st on CBS, were announced yesterday and Lil Wayne‘s latest album, Funeral, earned a nod.

However, it is not Wayne that earned the nomination; it is art directors Kyle Goen and Alex Kalatschinow, who are the designers behind the official artwork for Funeral.

In the “Best Recording Package” category, Funeral will go up against other art directors for their work on Coldplay’s Everyday Life, Grouplove’s Healer, Caspian’s On Circles, and Desert Sessions’ Vols. 11 & 12 projects.

Do you think Kyle and Alex have a good chance at winning the “Best Recording Package” award? The name flip on ‘lilwayne’ and ‘funeral’ was dope!
