Lil Wayne Discusses His Childhood, Not Believing In Racism, Playing Tennis & More On The More To It Podcast

Lil Wayne recently participated in a 1-hour conversation with former American football player Marcellus Wiley on his “More To It” podcast, which is a show featuring interviews with entertainers.

In their convo, Wayne discussed growing up in the 17th Ward of New Orleans, signing to Cash Money Records, dressing up as Michael Jackson and performing for his family at a young age (this is when he realized he loved performing), his late stepfather Rabbit, the Cash Money/Ruff Ryders tour, Slim Williams, the moment when Birdman and Slim knew he was a solo artist and not a Hot Boy anymore, and being a student of the game every single day.

Also during their talk, Weezy spoke on wanting to become the ultimate music artist, how it feels to be in the conversation for the greatest rapper of all time, Roger Federer being the G.O.A.T. in tennis, playing tennis himself with his homie T@, the time he said he does not believe in racism on “Undisputed”, what he would tell his older self if he could go back in time, the Green Bay Packers, preferring American football over basketball, preferring Los Angeles over Miami, and what the hardest part and the best part about being Lil Wayne is.

For episode 24 of Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson‘s “All The Smoke” podcast, they had Lil Wayne as the special guest and chopped it up with him for around 25-minutes. At the start of the video, Stack called Wayne the “best rapper of all time” and his “favorite rapper” while towards the end, Matt mentioned he named one of his sons “Carter” after Tha Carter III album.

During their conversation, which you can watch below, Weezy spoke on how his family are currently doing with this coronavirus lockdown, how he has “been self-quarantining for years”, his mother Cita and brother Semaj being in New Orleans where the virus is “really bad” at the moment, N.O. legend 5th Ward Weebie possibly passing away from this virus, and maybe recording a theme song for “All The Smoke“.

Tunechi also revealed he is hitting the studio up everyday while in lockdown, has an unreleased song with a bar saying “ballin’ like Stack Jack”, his sports knowledge comes from his grandma Mercedes Carter, he used to play American football back in the day, how Kobe Bryant made an impact on him, his current favorite NBA players, he is currently listening to Lil Baby, XXXTentacion and Young Dolph, and wanting to do a live concert from home with 5-6 unreleased songs!

Jay Jones has released a new documentary called “Late Nights, Early Mornings”, which was directed by Flot and shot by B Dragon.

At the beginning and middle of the mini film, which you can watch below, Lil Wayne appears on FaceTime with Jay‘s father Ronald “J-Dawg” Jones.

There are also appearances from Mack Maine, actor Jason Mitchell, PJ Morton, Nesby Phips, Fee Banks, Jay Jones’ grandma, and more.

During the documentary, Jones revealed it is a dream for him to record music with Tunechi that he has not yet woke up from, as well as spoke on how Tune goes to the studio for 26 hours straight and then heads to the skate park!
