Damian Lillard Speaks On Lil Wayne Recording Process, Run It Up & More

Damian Lillard aka Dame D.O.L.L.A. recently sat down with HotNewHipHop for a one on one interview to chat all about his new single “Run It Up” featuring Lil Wayne.

The NBA player and rapper revealed “Run It Up” is probably the best song he has released to date, as well as what he learned from being in the studio with Weezy.

Dame also spoke on Tunechi‘s recording process, Birdman clearing the feature, and told a story of Tune coming up with a hook idea while a beat played in the studio!

Damian Lillard Speaks On Being In The Studio With Lil Wayne, His Work Ethic & Hearing Unreleased Music

A couple of days ago, Damian Lillard aka Dame D.O.L.L.A. did a press run in New York City for his upcoming Confirmed album and his new “Run It Up” single featuring Lil Wayne, which you can check out in the clips below.

One of these press run stops included a visit to Shade 45’s “Sway In The Morning” radio show. At the 5:00 mark, Dame spoke to Sway Calloway and Heather B about being in the studio with Weezy and bouncing ideas off of each other to beats, as well as revealed they have “a number of songs” that they have recorded together from his first album to now.

The NBA player and rapper also stopped by Complex to appear on episode 197 of their “Everyday Struggle” series. Throughout his appearance, Lillard discussed plenty of things about Tunechi, such as his work ethic, Cash Money trying to block his verse on “Loyal To The Soil“, listening to his music, what he learned from being in the studio with him, and hearing unreleased Tune music!

Jonathan Mannion Talks Shooting ColleGrove Artwork, 2 Chainz Explains Why Lil Wayne Is A Living Legend

In a recent interview with Rebecca Haithcoat for Instagram Music, 2 Chainz and Jonathan Mannion (who shot the cover) discuss all about the artwork for ColleGrove.

Jonathan talked about how he photographed Lil Wayne while on set of “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” in February after shooting Tity Boi a couple of weeks beforehand:

“I set up a portable studio behind [Wayne’s] trailer on the set of ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon’. With 2 Chainz, I shot him about two weeks before that, in a studio in Los Angeles. It was me and a retoucher. I was like, it really has to look like these tattoos sink into his face as if they’re his own.”

Chainz spoke on coming up with the idea for the ColleGrove album artwork, having to slap himself sometimes to realize that Tunechi is one of his realest friends, and why he believes Tune is a “living legend”:
