Kenny Mason Discusses His Admiration For Lil Wayne, Tha Carter III Sessions & More

Kenny Mason sits down with Hakeem Rowe from Our Generation Music for a one on one interview, which you can watch in full below.

From the 22:00 mark of their conversation, Kenny discusses his admiration for Lil Wayne, working with him on J.I.D‘s “Just In Time” song, Wayne being the reason why he started rapping, his mixtapes, and calls Weezy “the G.O.A.T. for sure”.

The Atlanta artist also explains why he believes Tunechi is “the Michael Jackson of rap music” and reveals his favorite Tune project is The Carter 3 mixtape (not the album). He goes on to detail this was the original Tha Carter III album before all of the songs got leaked, such as “Scarface“. Mason even adds that this unofficial project deserves more recognition as it had beats from Kanye West and Timbaland on it!

A private early birthday party was set up for Lil Wayne at The Nice Guy restaurant in Los Angeles, California on September 25th to celebrate him turning the big 40-years-old.

Tunechi arrived to the birthday bash with his four kids and Dhea Sodano. Other members of Tune‘s family such as his mother Jacida Cater, and close friends like Skip Bayless, Shannon Sharpe, YG, Yella Beezy, Gudda Gudda, HoodyBaby, T-Streets, Mack Maine, Cortez Bryant, Allan Cubas, T@, Petey Lo, DJ Scoob Doo, Marcus Wiley, Emmanuel Acho, SpanishMike, Phillip Lopez, Yosef Ratleff, and Theotis Beasley also attended.

For Weezy‘s biggest surprise of the night, one of his favorite music artists of all time, Keith Sweat, came out to perform a few of his songs live. You can check out some footage from the party below, which shows everything that went down during the evening. Tyler The Creator, Lil Wayne & Kanye West Smuckers Song Goes Gold

According to the Recording Industry Association Of America (RIAA), Tyler, The Creator‘s “Smuckers” song featuring Lil Wayne and Kanye West was certified Gold on April 29th.

This means that the track, which appears on Tyler‘s third studio album, Cherry Bomb, has been purchased and streamed over 500,000 times since it was first released on April 13th back in 2015.
