Killer Mike recently held a listening party for his forthcoming album, Michael, during SXSW in Austin, Texas that was curated by SPIN.

According to radio host/producer DJ Kenny Perez, who was in attendance at this listening session, the project is due to feature a collaboration with Lil Wayne.

“Yesterday I got the chance to sit and listen to Killer Mike new solo project ‘Michael.’ I can with out a doubt tell you to RUN and embrace it when it drops. The project is journey through his life and he doesn’t hold back. Collabs with Andre 3000, Lil Wayne, Dave Chapelle and more.”

There is currently no release date for Michael, but I will update this post when it has been confirmed. Wayne previously worked with the Run The Jewels rapper on “Ooh LA LA (Remix)” in 2021 after chatting to him on Young Money Radio the year before!

Run The Jewels have released their official “Ooh LA LA” remix featuring Lil Wayne, Greg Nice and DJ Premier.

The collaboration appears on the deluxe edition of Killer Mike and El-P‘s RTJ4 digital album, available online now.

Killer Mike recently took part in an interview with John Heilemann for the “Hell & High Water” podcast, which you can listen to in full below.

During their conversation, Mike shared his thoughts on Lil Wayne meeting US President Donald Trump and how he believes Wayne was given a few million dollars to show his support.

“I don’t know why Wayne did the endorsement… but I suspect, like 50 Cent said, they offer you a million bucks, shoot… They offered 50 a million. Shit, they might’ve offered Weezy three or four, you know?”

Even though he is not sure what to think of Weezy endorsing Trump, the Run The Jewels emcee did have huge praise for him: “I’m still a Lil Wayne fan. He is one of the greatest rappers on fucking earth.”

Episode 7 took place on Friday night (June 5th) of Lil Wayne‘s “Young Money Radio” show, which included special guests Muriel Bowser, Snoop Dogg, Stephen Jackson, Chris Paul, Killer Mike, and Bun B.

During this show, Weezy clarified his recent comments about police brutality and racism by explaining he was saved by a white cop (Uncle Bob) when he was younger while black cops left him and looked for the gun. However, he does share stories of how he has experienced racism by white cops and even by a white pilot on his private plane.

I previously posted up Lil Wayne‘s full conversation with Eminem at the weekend, and now we can check out the rest of episode 3 of the “Young Money Radio” show on Apple Music that took place on May 8th.

Throughout this radio show, Wayne revealed he is working on a new song with hip-hop group Griselda (not the 2 Chainz one), he is a fan of Killer Mike, he has a collaboration on the way with Jack Harlow called “2K“, and he wishes he could of done a song with the late Pop Smoke.
