DJ Khaled Shows Love To Lil Wayne At Lil Weezyana Fest, Calls Him The Greatest Rapper Alive

On August 25th, the 4th annual “Lil Weezyana Fest” took place in Lil Wayne‘s hometown New Orleans, Louisiana at Champions Square’s Bold Sphere Music.

During the show, a video message popped up from DJ Khaled showing love to his “brother” Tunechi and asking him to perform “Mr. Carter” off Tha Carter III:

“Wassup? I go by the name of DJ Khaled and I want to show love to my brother Lil Wayne, my brother for life, day one, that’s family. That’s the greatest rapper alive, matter of fact, one of the greatest to ever did it, don’t ever play yourself, don’t ever play yourself. Ayo Wayne, you know we all waiting for that C5, that Carter V, and I know it’s more fire, more classics, you know what I’m saying? But right now, I think we should tap in to that Carter III, sometimes you know we need to tap in, you know what I mean? If it’s good with you, I would like to see you perform ‘Mr Carter’, another one.”

Lil Wayne Confirms His Dedication 6 Mixtape Is Coming Soon

For Thanksgiving Day yesterday, Lil Wayne took to his Instagram page to reveal what he is thankful for.

Weezy mentioned that he is thankful for us fans for standing by him while he is going through his battle with Cash Money Records and Universal.

Even though he didn’t give a release date, Tunechi also pointed out that his and DJ Drama’s forthcoming Dedication 6 mixtape is coming our way “soon”.

I must add that when a release date for D6 is announced, I will post it on here, so there is no need for you to be putting in any hope in these “mixtape websites” claiming they know when it will drop. It’s all for clicks and hits!

I posted up some footage yesterday of Lil Wayne performing “Ride For My Niggas” at MASS APPEAL’s 3rd annual “Live At The BBQ” during South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas on March 16th.

Now we can check out footage of Weezy letting us fans know he is fine even though he going through some “bullshit” with his record label before going into performing “No Worries” live.

“In all real and all honesty, I know y’all do know I am going through some bullshit with my motherfuckin’ career and niggas is tryna steer my career without letting me do or say a damn thing, but it’s moments like this that made that bullshit this big to me, I appreciate it. If you think I am stressing or letting this shit get to me, please remember there’s too much good pussy and too many great motherfuckin’ loyal fans to worry about bullshit-ass Birdman!”

Rick Ross has released his new album, Rather You Than Me, and even though there is no Lil Wayne feature on the project, there is a song on it in support of Wayne and his current record label problems.

The track, which is called “Idols Become Rivals“, includes Ross rapping about how Cash Money Records are fake and how he isn’t feeling the way Birdman screwed over his music artists Weezy and DJ Khaled. You can stream the record below.

Rozay even shared a message of support for Tunechi on Instagram by revealing why he decided to make a track about Tune‘s situation and that the “streets” need him. Wayne saw the message and responded with: “dam big bro that msg hit me in the heart and put the motivation on automatik start. I needed that. 1 boss 2 another”!

A couple of weeks ago, Tyler, The Creator released his “Cherry Bomb” documentary. Unfortunately, I have not managed to watch it yet, but I did see a clip online of Lil Wayne‘s part in the doc.

In the clip, Tunechi can be seen explaining why Tyler, The Creator changed the rap game, as well as how people are only hearing Tyler‘s music and not listening to it. Tune also shared some words of wisdom:

“Work hard, be somebody, be something more than what you see in the mirror. Let the world be your mirror, don’t let them judge you, cause the mirror can’t judge you. You judge what you see in the mirror.”

Yesterday, American sports reporter Craig Sager passed away from his 2-year battle with leukemia.

After the news, Lil Wayne shared an R.I.P. message on Twitter and today, he has uploaded a 1-minute eulogy for Craig on his Instagram page.

In the video, which you can check out below, Weezy talks about never getting the chance to meet Sager even though he wanted to, always admiring him, his choice of style, and more.

“Today, I actually got a little choked up and it was an emotion that I haven’t felt in a long time. It showed me how strong respect can be for someone I’ve never met.”
