Turk Recalls First Meeting Lil Wayne, Recording The Hot Boys Albums, Hearing I Miss My Dawgs In Jail & More

Kyle Kramer from Noisey recently caught up with Turk to reflect on what he remembers about meeting Lil Wayne for the first time, working with him, their friendship, and plenty more.

The YNT founder also spoke on recording the Hot Boys albums with Tunechi, his favorite verse from Tune, hearing “I Miss My Dawgs” for the first time while behind bars, what it was like when everyone left Cash Money Records, the Big Tymers (Birdman and Mannie Fresh), his “Zip It” single, and the “Baller Blockin’” movie.

LT Hutton Hints At Lil Wayne Being On The All Eyez On Me Soundtrack Paying Homage To 2Pac

Record producer L.T. Hutton recently chopped it up with HipHopDX for an interview (see below) about the upcoming All Eyez On Me biopic.

During the conversation, Hutton hinted that Lil Wayne and Kendrick Lamar would both be making an appearance on the film’s soundtrack, which he mentioned would be full of songs paying homage and tribute to Pac:

“Lil Wayne never got to rap with Pac, so in the Pac spirit what kind of song would you create? Same thing with Kendrick, you love 2Pac and you say 2Pac would always be in your music, what does that song sound like?”

The movie is set to be released in theaters on June 16th, so we will find out the answer nearer to that date! Maybe we will be hearing the full track of Weezy‘s “That’s What Niggas Do“?

Earlier this month, Nate Parker made an appearance on Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club” radio show to chat with DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Charlamagne Tha God, as well a to promote his “The Birth Of A Nation” film.

At the 27:45 mark of the interview, the actor/director/producer discussed the Gucci Mane and Lil WayneOh Lord” collaboration, which can be found on the official soundtrack for the movie.

Birdman Talks Hearing Lil Wayne New Music, Relationship With Reginae Carter, Hot Boys Album & More

Yesterday, Birdman sat down for a 39-minute interview with Angie Martinez in New York City to speak on getting locked up for nearly 2 years when he was a teenager, losing both his parents before he turned 6-years-old, living in a boy’s home, not feeling comfortable in New York because of their gun laws, who he is currently listening to, a Cash Money biopic, and plenty more.

Throughout the conversation, Baby also spoke on his current relationship with Lil Wayne by saying it’s “kosher”, why Wayne will always be his son no matter what happens, still seeing him everyday at the studio in Miami, the Hot Boys project with Mannie Fresh, his relationship with Reginae Carter, and his own kids’ relationship with Weezy.

Birdman also mentioned that he has been in Tunechi‘s studio to hear some of his new music and when asked what he thinks of it, he replied: “he on some gorilla shit”. You can watch the full interview after the jump below!

Matti Baybee Says He Wants To See A Biopic On Lil Wayne

Matti Baybee and Lil Mouse recently sat down with DJ Smallz for an interview about the NWA biopic “Straight Outta Compton” and the possible sequel for the movie.

At the end of the conversation, the two Chicago rappers were asked who they would love to see a biographical film made on to which Matti mentioned he would like to see a Lil Wayne biopic.

Babybee did also say that he doesn’t feel like it’s time for one just yet as biopics need to be made when the person stops working and hopefully Weezy is not close to retiring!
