During their conversation at the 8:10 mark, Trilla mentioned that it was Lil Wayne who first got him into rap back when he was 13-years-old in the 8th Grade.

The Atlanta music artist revealed it was hearing “Pussy Monster” by Wayne for the very first time and watching a video of him performing it live (on The Carter Documentary) that made him want to be a rapper!

While answering the question correctly about which “Lil” rapper has the most GRAMMY awards by saying Lil Wayne, the actress and comedian revealed she thinks Wayne is dope and unique as nobody else sounds like him.

Lil Wayne was the featured guest on the latest episode of Mike Sherman‘s “Before The Fame” series.

The show included old interviews with Wayne, as well as new interviews from Trina, Kevin Rudolf, engineer FatBoyMixx, Tammy Torres, producer Bigg D, and a music trivia with random people on the street.

During Trina‘s interview, she spoke on dating Tunechi, why he is one of the greatest, and confirms he will be featured on her new album The One. Tammy also talked about dating Tune, being in love with him, and how he is not the same person as he was 10 years ago.

For Kevin‘s interview, he discussed how he got signed to Cash Money, what it is like working with Weezy, their chemistry together, and reconnecting on “I Will Not Break“. Stephen McDowell aka FatBoyMixx, who did work on Tha Carter V, chatted about Lil Wayne‘s work ethic, witnessing Wayne record a whole song from scratch in 15 minutes, and called him “the no. 1 rapper”.

Music producer Bigg D spoke about producing JAY Z and Mr. Carter‘s “Hello Brooklyn” collaboration, revealed Weezy is his “favorite artist” that he was worked with, called him “a legend” in the industry, and says all the new generation rappers “pretty much got it from Wayne“. During their conversation, Kelvin revealed that the rappers who inspired him the most are Lil Wayne, Meek Mill, 50 Cent and Dipset.

The Cleveland rapper then went into more detail about why Weezy is one of his biggest inspirations and that is because he came into the music industry hungry at a very young age.

Kelvin also recalled when Tunechi dropped his Da Drought mixtape around the same time that PSP (PlayStation Portable) came out and he used to play NBA 2K while listening to every Tune song. He even mentioned that watching Wayne‘s VH1 documentary about his life made him want to become a rapper!
