Swizz Beatz Recalls How Lil Wayne Uproar Was Originally A Freestyle With No Break Points

Swizz Beatz recently appeared on Mike Tyson‘s “Hotboxin’” series were he chatted with the heavyweight boxing legend himself and DJ Whoo Kid.

At the 21:20 mark of their conversation, which you can watch below, Mike declared “I’m a Lil Wayne fan” before asking Swizz about his “Uproar” collaboration with Wayne off Tha Carter V album.

The New York music artist, DJ and producer then revealed he messed around with Tunechi‘s vocals on the beat as it was originally just a freestyle with Tune rapping all the way through with no break points, and Weezy didn’t like it at first before he changed his mind and was like: “aight, let’s do it”!

Kenny Mason Discusses His Admiration For Lil Wayne, Tha Carter III Sessions & More

Kenny Mason sits down with Hakeem Rowe from Our Generation Music for a one on one interview, which you can watch in full below.

From the 22:00 mark of their conversation, Kenny discusses his admiration for Lil Wayne, working with him on J.I.D‘s “Just In Time” song, Wayne being the reason why he started rapping, his mixtapes, and calls Weezy “the G.O.A.T. for sure”.

The Atlanta artist also explains why he believes Tunechi is “the Michael Jackson of rap music” and reveals his favorite Tune project is The Carter 3 mixtape (not the album). He goes on to detail this was the original Tha Carter III album before all of the songs got leaked, such as “Scarface“. Mason even adds that this unofficial project deserves more recognition as it had beats from Kanye West and Timbaland on it!

In the clip, Chubby Jag spoke about witnessing Tunechi‘s reaction to him rapping (Tune slamming the lighter down on an ash tray and the glass smashing).

At the 6:15 mark of their conversation, the New Orleans rapper told the story of how he came close to signing with Lil Wayne and Young Money when he was 17-years-old back in August, 2005.

After sharing the story which ended in him missing the flight Wayne had booked for him to meet up in Miami, Wam Bam says he tried to call Weezy to which he got angry and cussed him out:

“Stop calling my phone bro, you done missed your sh*t. You keep on calling me, I’m thinking a female calling this… you on the phone. What is you? A b*tch or a n*gga?”
