DJ Drama Announces Lil Wayne Dedication 2 Mixtape Is Coming To Streaming Platforms

DJ Drama recently sat down with Elliott Wilson and Brian “B.Dot” Miller for an interview on their Rap Radar Podcast.

Around the 57 minute mark of their conversation, Drama announced Lil Wayne‘s Dedication 2 mixtape will be coming to digital streaming platforms sometime this year.

“We are dropping Dedication 2 on streaming platforms this year and it’s gonna have some new music along with it, that’s pretty exciting.”

The Philadelphia DJ and record executive also revealed there will be new music on the project. My guess is that it will be similar to when Wayne‘s Sorry 4 The Wait tape arrived to DSPs and there was 4 new songs on it.

You can check out the full convo after the jump below! Are you happy with this news and when do you think D2 will appear on streaming services? It could possibly be around the 17-year anniversary which is in May!

We first got word back in November that Lil Wayne was planning to re-release another one of his mixtapes to digital music streaming platforms, and now we know which tape it is.

Over ten years after the initial release on 13th July, 2011, Tunechi is going to be adding his Sorry 4 The Wait project to streaming services.

There is currently no exact release date for when this mixtape will be available on DSPs, but Weezy has said it will be out “soon” and shared a pre-save link here!

Lil Wayne To Re-Release Another Older Mixtape On Streaming Platforms In January

Lil Wayne To Re-Release Another Older Mixtape On Streaming Platforms In January

Good news! Similar to No Ceilings, it looks like another one of Lil Wayne‘s older mixtapes will be receiving an official release on digital streaming platforms soon.

According to Mack Maine, there will be a re-release of a Weezy tape that will “probably” drop in January, but he did not say which one it will be. However, he did say that every song has been cleared on it, which was not the case with past projects like No Ceilings and FWA.

Which Tunechi mixtape do you think is making its way to streaming services in a couple of month’s time and what do you think this means for the release of I Am Not A Human Being 3? A few months ago, DJ Drama did reveal Tune and his team are working hard to try and get an official re-release for Dedication 2, so it could possibly be that one?

Mack Maine Talks About The Length Of Lil Wayne’s Albums & How It Has Evolved

Mack Maine Talks About The Length Of Lil Wayne's Albums & How It Has Evolved

Lil Wayne‘s long-time friend and the Young Money President, Mack Maine, recently spoke with Adam Aziz for his article on The Undefeated about rap album lengths.

Mack talked about how the music industry has evolved from when him and Wayne first started way before digital streaming was a thing and confirmed Weezy has a project coming out that will be 10 or 11 songs only (it’s possible that this could be Trust Fund Babies)!

“Wayne had never released an album in the streaming era [until Tha Carter V]. Everybody was like: ‘Yo, you gotta put more tracks on there because that’ll get the streams up.'”

“Wayne’s thinking process, from what he and I spoke about, was we look at our albums as feeding the people like food, so he always wanted to make sure the consumer was full after they listen to the album. We have a project coming out soon that will only be 10 or 11 joints.”

Onhel Talks Unreleased Lil Wayne Music, “Side B*tch”, Wayne’s Reaction To Him First Putting Autotune On His Vocals & More

Onhel Speaks On Unreleased Lil Wayne Music, Side Bitch, Wayne Reaction To Him First Putting Autotune On His Vocals & More

Angel “Onhel” Aponte recently participated in a Q&A (question and answer) session with a Lil Wayne Discord server that you can read in full below.

During their conversation, Onhel discussed trying to get “Like A Man” on streaming platforms, having close to 50 unreleased songs with Wayne in the vault including one where he spits everything in reference to the letter “F”, No Ceilings 2, his very first Weezy leak being “Lisa Marie“, and recording Sorry 4 The Wait 2.

“First the most memorable moment for me will be. We were doing a song ‘Showtime’. He started his vs saying ‘ooouuuu it’s going down in this bitch’. I put a drop on it before he came back in the room. So I put auto tune on that one line. The first time he EVER had auto tune on his voice. The look he gave me, I thought I was about to get fired for the first time in my life. But the look was more he saw how much money he was about to make lol. The music industry changed from that ONE moment. Granted it was Wayne’s talent that everyone followed. But that would have never happened if I didn’t do that. So that will forever be a memorable moment.”

The New York producer and audio engineer also spoke about the DVLP-produced song “Side Bitch“, being in the studio with Tunechi when he first sent out the tweets expressing he was unhappy with Cash Money Records and Birdman back in 2014, being the very first person who put auto-tune on Tune‘s vocals, and much more!
