A Rare Lil Wayne Interview With DJ Felli Fel Backstage At 2008 Powerhouse

For #ThrowbackThursday today, here is a rare Lil Wayne interview with DJ Felli Fel that took place backstage of Power 106 FM’s annual “Powerhouse” concert at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California on June 21st, 2008.

In their conversation, Weezy talked about wanting to see The Game and Ice Cube perform live at Powerhouse, being surprised he sold 1.5 million records with Tha Carter III in less than a month of it being released, and more.

Tunechi also spoke on recording features for The Pussycat Dolls and Chris Brown earlier in the day, as well as already working on Tha Carter IV after the C3 release. You can check out their rare convo after the jump below!

During their conversation, which you can watch below, Menace talked about why Lil Wayne is a “good dude”, having a relationship with Wayne before Birdman, and respecting both of them forever.

The Compton rapper also explained how the Tunechi feature on his “Blood N*ggaz” song came about from The Game always making him ask Tune for features, and so he decided to do it for himself. He even spoke about Weezy shooting the music video for it not long before he had to go to jail!

As well as Tune, there were also more special guests in the building including Ronnie Singh, The Game, Chris Paul, Soulja Boy, Odell Beckham Jr., Swae Lee, Matt Barnes, Kendall Jenner, Bas, and Devin Booker!

The Game Talks How Him & Lil Wayne First Met, My Life Hook & More

The Game recently sat down with Jeremy Hecht for an interview to promote his upcoming Drillmatic album.

During their conversation, Game was asked about his “My Life” single featuring Lil Wayne and revealed how him and Wayne first met.

When talking about “My Life“, the Compton rapper says the hook from Tunechi originally came from an outro Tune did for another one of their songs that Cool & Dre produced.

You can check out the full convo after the jump below. I don’t think Game is aware of this, but many Weezy fans will know that he first sang this chorus on Birdman’s “So Tired” song back in 2007!
