Last night, Lil Wayne made an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” to promote his new album, Tha Carter V.

During his sit-down interview, Weezy chatted to Jimmy Fallon about the nearly 5-year-long wait for C5‘s release, how he got into skateboarding, and studying his lyrics for his new songs as he doesn’t write them down.

Birdman Claims Lil Wayne & Cortez Bryant Have Been Arranging A Way To Earn A Bigger Share Of Drake Royalties

Even though it seemed like everything was getting back to normal between Lil Wayne and Birdman, it looks like their feud is still ongoing.

According to The Blast, Baby is accusing Wayne and his manager/best friend Cortez Bryant of taking part in an elaborate plan to earn more money from Drake‘s music.

Last year, Aspire Music Group, which is a record label co-founded by Tez Poe, sued Cash Money Records and Universal Music Group for not paying the revenue that they owed from Drizzy‘s royalties.

After looking at the documents, Aspire are claiming that they discovered the 6 God and have a deal in place with Young Money Entertainment and Cash Money permitting them to a 1/3 share of the net profits from Drake‘s first six projects.

Birdman and CM counter-sued Aspire Music Group‘s lawsuit on Friday (August 17th) by accusing Weezy and Tez for plotting with their lawyer Ronald Sweeney to get richer off a bigger share of Drizzy Drake‘s royalties:

Lil Wayne Teams Up With Sound Royalties To Drop New Projects This Year

Sound Royalties have announced that they have partnered up with Lil Wayne to help him launch new projects this year. In a statement, Wayne wrote:

“Nothing is going to hold back my creativity this year. I am very excited to be teaming up with Sound Royalties to help bring my plans for 2018 to life. Sound Royalties understands the music world and is helping me utilize my past successes to fund and propel new projects and to continue creatively evolving.”

The finance firm, which is backed by over $18 million in assets, offers fresh and new strategies to help music artists with funding and projects. The CEO and founder of Sound Royalties, Alex Heiche, added in a statement:

“Our team provides artists, songwriters and producers with what they need to focus on the music and keep creating the songs that lift us all up and make our lives better. We are thrilled to be working with Lil Wayne and look forward to witnessing the continued musical excellence he will deliver in 2018.”

This news is great for us fans as it confirms Weezy will be dropping more projects in 2018 thanks to his new connection with Sound Royalties! Are you excited?

Cool from producer duo Cool & Dre recently chopped it up with Kathy Iandoli for an interview with BET for their “musicians who got our attention in 2016” article.

In the interview, Cool revealed that he thinks Lil Wayne has had a great 2016, but it has not been where his previous years were and that’s because he has been dealing with a lot of business to make sure 2017 is a totally different year.

The producer also confirmed he has been working in the studio with Tunechi on new music, as well as that Tune has “an amazing catalog of stuff that hasn’t been released” yet. Cool mentioned that Wayne has “been gearing up for an amazing 2017-2018” too.
