Avenue Beatz Talks First Meeting Lil Wayne, Co-Producing Uproar & Glory + More

The co-producer of “Uproar“, Avenue Beatz, recently chopped it up with XXL all about his work with Swizz Beatz on Lil Wayne‘s Tha Carter V single.

Avenue spoke on sampling G. Dep‘s “Special Delivery“, if he expected “Uproar” to be as big as it is, and getting Weezy to rap over the beat after he said that he didn’t like it on “Green Ranger” off Dedication 4.

Also in their interview, which you can read after the jump below, the producer discussed his first time meeting Tunechi, co-producing Tune‘s “Glory” song off the Free Weezy Album with Angel “Onhel” Aponte, and plenty more!

ONHEL Talks Working With Lil Wayne, Like A Man, His Recording Process, President Carter & More

Producer ONHEL recently participated in an interview with PigeonsandPlanes over the phone to talk all about his new collaboration with Lil Wayne called “Like A Man“, how it first leaked, and confirm it is a recent recording from this year.

ONHEL also discussed how he first started working with Tunechi back in 2004, what a studio session is like with Tune, making the transition of being an engineer to a record producer, and what Wayne‘s recording process is like.

The producer even revealed that he has around 50 songs with Weezy, but we have only heard a few of them like “Brown Paper Bag“, “Dinnertime“, “President Carter“, “Glory“, and “Like A Man“. He also mentioned that he believes “President Carter” is the only track on Tha Carter IV that was recorded before jail!

We saw the first preview 3 months ago, and now here is a new preview of Lil Wayne‘s upcoming music video for his “Glory” single that can be found on his Free Weezy Album.

The visual, which was directed by Eif Rivera, is completed but the director has revealed that “politics” currently have it on hold (the Cash Money situation) and so it can’t be released just yet.

Back in July, Lil Wayne shot a music video for his “Glory” single off the Free Weezy Album in front of a green screen at the Digital Film Studios in Sun Valley, Los Angeles.

If you are wondering why the visual has not yet been released, the director Eif Rivera revealed that politics currently have it on hold. If I was to guess, I would think that means something to do with Birdman and Cash Money Records.

However, Rivera did release a sneak peek of the “Glory” music video on his Instagram page over the weekend, which you can watch below. Do you think it looks dope? Hopefully the full video is able to drop soon!

At the 32:00 mark of the interview, which you can check out below, Fiddy started to discuss the definition of real in hip-hop today and how new albums will always be compared to classic projects like Tha Carter, It Was Written, Get Rich Or Die Tryin’, Illmatic, and Reasonable Doubt even if they are “cool”.

50 also revealed that he loved Lil Wayne‘s latest project, Free Weezy Album (even though he called it a mixtape), as there was some crazy bars on it, as well mentioned that Tunechi‘s “Glory” song is nice and he doesn’t believe Tune fell off like people are saying!
