Trippie Redd recently shared his top 5 rappers of all time list to XXL and Lil Wayne was named as No. 1.

Explaining his reason as to why he named Tunechi in his list, Redd says it is because he listened to Tune‘s music the most and he made change okay with the face tattoos plus grills.

The Ohio music artist then revealed his top 3 favorite albums of all time, which included 2 projects from WeezyTha Carter III and Tha Carter IV. You can check out everything Trippie had to say after the jump below!

Trippie Redd Explains Why Lil Wayne Is His Idol, Names His 3 Favorite Wayne Songs

Last week, Trippie Redd sat down with Rendez Vous for a one on one interview while he was in Paris, France.

During their conversation at the 4:05 mark, the host told Trippie that he reminds him of Lil Wayne and asked the Ohio rapper what does Wayne mean to him. Redd then called Wayne his idol, said he looks up to him, and revealed he has listened to all of Weezy‘s albums to see his growth from the beginning to now.

Also in the interview, which you can watch below, Lil 14 mentioned Tunechi is “so inspiring” and all of his music is “meaningful” with him always saying “deep shit”. He even added that Tune is the founder of diamond teeth, face tattoos, dreads, and the rock crossover with hip-hop thanks to his Rebirth album.

Before the conversation changed to another subject, Trippie Redd explained what it was like meeting Mr. Carter and named “Comfortable“, “Nightmares Of The Bottom” and “I Feel Like Dying” as his top 3 favorite Lil Wayne songs!

For this week’s “Feature Friday” installment, I have picked a song from Grill called “Hustla, Balla, Gangsta” featuring a verse from Lil Wayne.

The song, which has also been known under the title “We Represent“, was released back in 2003 intending to appear on Grill‘s Thug Livin’ album that dropped the following year. However, Weezy‘s verse was removed for an unknown reason.

“And my name is Weezy buddy, and ain’t no such thing as easy money; I know how to get it when I need that money; So I got it where I never ever need for nothing, you know?”

First thing’s first, we have already heard this interview with DJ Drama last week. However, Shade 45’s “Streetz Iz Watchin” radio show have just released footage from their conversation with Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz in Atlanta that had Usher in the background peeping.

In the clip, which you can watch below, Tunechi tells the story of how years ago Jay Z offered him $175,000 to sign with Roc-A-Fella Records and Tune had to explain to him that his bottom teeth are worth that with his grill.

Weezy did reveal that him and Jay Z still laugh and joke about that to this day, as well as that he still looks up to Jay as a mentor. He also mentioned that we can look forward to more collaborations from the Carters once he gets his situation right with his record labels!
