On July 1st, Nicki Minaj headlined the 2022 ESSENCE Festival from the Caesars Superdome stadium in New Orleans, Louisiana.
As the show was in Lil Wayne and Birdman‘s hometown, it was only right that Nicki brought out Wayne and the No. 1 Stunna to surprise the crowd.
You can watch Minaj perform “Seeing Green“, “High School” and “A Milli” with Weezy, as well as “#1 Stunna” and “Pop Bottles” live with Baby after the jump below!
The Game was the latest guest on Mike Tyson‘s “Hotboxin'” series, which you can watch in full below.
During their sit-down convo at the 7:15 mark, the Compton rapper revealed Lil Wayne will be featured on his upcoming Drillmatic album that is due to be released on July 1st.
There will also be features from Chris Brown, Chloe Bailey, Kanye West, G Herbo, NBA Youngboy, and more! Are you looking forward to hearing a brand new Game and Wayne collaboration?
Above, you can watch some footage of Lil Wayne meeting 13-year-old Alex Midler at the 2012 X Games in Los Angeles, California on July 1st. If you don’t know who Alex is, he is a young student and skater, and is also the reason why Weezy F Baby started to skateboard.
Tunechi has told the story a few times as to why Alex Midler inspired him to start skating, but to cut a long story short, Wayne saw footage of a 9-year-old Alex skateboarding and that is what motivated him and made him want to learn to skate himself.
Also in the clip, Alex invites Weezy to skateboard at his home after the X Games so Tune adds his phone number into Alex‘s mother’s phone. There is no footage of them skating at Midler‘s crib, but it does look like they had some fun because Lil Waynetweeted this:
Man I sk8’d @ lil Alex Midler’s krib today!! Lil homie is a G! & props to Todd,moms,pops,& Indy 4 the luv!
While attending the 2012 X Games in Los Angeles on Sunday, Lil Wayne participated in a live online chat with his fans and answered just over 40 questions.
Some of the questions that were submitted to Weezy were useful and interesting, but there were a few people who wasted a good opportunity to ask Tune a good question and instead asked dumb questions such as “how old are you?“.
The two highlights from this interview are that Tunechi said he will record more collaborations with Eminem in the future and Tha Carter V will most likely drop next year. You can read the full chat with Wayne and his fans below:
Check out some photos in this post of Lil Wayne attending and watching the 2012 X Games (an annual sports event) in Los Angeles, California on July 1st.
Weezy was sitting next to David Beckham and took a few photos with Sal Masekela and professional skateboarder Anthony Frank Hawk aka Tony Hawk.
This is also the reason why Tune was not in attendance at the 2012 BET Awards with his YMCMB family, in case of you was wondering about that.
