Lil Wayne Talks About His Fellow Inmates, Getting Into A Fight, Hearing His Son Say

Later this month, Lil Wayne will release his “Gone ‘Til November: A Journal of Rikers Island” memoir, and today, the first few pages from Wayne‘s book have surfaced online via Vulture.

In the pages, we can read what the first few days were like in prison for Weezy, what exactly he got up to, what he ate, who the inmates he got along with were, getting a suicidal-protection aide job, becoming friends with C.O.’s, getting into a fight on the yard, finding out the news Drake had slept with his girl, rapping for inmates, being visited by Diddy, Kanye West, Chris Paul, and more.

Tunechi also revealed he cried when he first heard his cell door lock behind him, he heard his son Dwayne Michael Carter III say “da-da” for the very first time over the phone while locked up, he never ever wants to go back to jail, and being told Drizzy wants him on his “Light Up” remix and to record his verse over the phone. Here is the official remix to Drake‘s song with Jay-ZLight Up” that we have all been waiting for. Drizzy‘s and Jay‘s verses have not changed from the album version, but this time around Weezy joins in and spits a sick verse over the phone live from Rikers Island. For obvious reasons the quality in Wayne‘s verse is not CDQ, but it is much better than the rip we posted last week. What do you guys think about Wayne‘s verse and do you think that we can expect more new verses from Tunechi while he is locked up ❓ Let us know in the comments and make sure you buy Drake‘s debut album Thank Me Later, in stores now!

Lil Wayne Light Up Remix Rip

Two days ago, we posted a video of Drake confirming that Weezy did a verse to his “Light Up” track saying: “Lil Wayne recorded one of his greatest verses ever over the phone for my track with Jay-Z – Light Up” . Earlier today in the United Kingdom, Drake went on Ustream live to promote his upcoming album Thank Me Later and he also played Tunechi‘s phone call with the recorded verse on. Don’t forget that this is only a rip of a video from the phone recording, so the quality will not be the best until Drizzy releases it. You can check it out below:

Game Speaks On Missing Lil Wayne Video Shoot x More

“I flaked on the video,” Game said of the track, which features Lil Wayne and Birdman. “Bird was like, ‘Listen, daddy, you can come down here. Junior is gonna turn himself in next Wednesday. You can come down here. We can shoot the video before Junior go in. You just have that in the safe.’ I blew it. I didn’t make it down. Once he went to jail, I was like, ‘I can’t use this.’ I didn’t want to save it, so I gave it away. That was like, ‘Single!’ ”

So what was so important that he couldn’t make it to Miami for his own video? He was finishing up tracks with the most successful hip-hop producer in the world.

“I think I was in with Dr. Dre. I couldn’t move,” he thought back. “I think we was finishing up his records. When Dre is mixing, you don’t leave. You gotta stay posted. But I couldn’t move. So I gave it away. Fans appreciate it, though.” – MTV

What do you think about this ❓ Would you of liked to see a video for “Everything Red” ❓ Do you think Game was right to miss the video shoot to be in the studio with Dre ❓

In other news, Drake revealed a special version of his “Light Up” track with Jay-Z and Weezy to Rap-Up yesterday: “Drake reveals a special version of his Jay-Z-assisted track “Light Up” on which Lil Wayne spits a hard verse “live from Rikers” over a non-mixed, raw-sounding beat.” I can’t wait to hear this… if we ever will!

And in more news, Eminem spoke to Skyrock Radio in Paris over the weekend and mentioned Tunechi: “I’ve always respected what Wayne does, and Lil Wayne, to me, is definitely one of the greatest in the game right now”. I think we can all agree with what Shady said.
