Throwback Thursday: Scans Of Lil Wayne & Birdman’s Cover Story For XXL Magazine’s 2006 Issue

Scans Of Lil Wayne & Birdman Cover Story For XXL Magazine 2006 Issue

For #ThrowbackThursday today, I have decided to share scans from Lil Wayne and Birdman‘s cover story for the December 2006 issue of XXL magazine, which took place not long after their Like Father, Like Son collaboration album had been released in stores.

In an interview with Jon Caramanica for the mag, Weezy and Baby discussed everything from how they first met each other, why artists such as Juvenile, Mannie Fresh, B.G. and Turk all left Cash Money Records, and how they really felt about that.

You put out the “I Miss My Dawgs” song, and you said it came from a sincere place. The other [Hot Boys] guys said it was some sport of publicity stunt. How did that make you feel?
Fuck them niggas. They should be happy a nigga was still seeing them at that time. I don’t see them no more. Literally. They dead to me, man.

You can check out scans from Wayne and Baby‘s cover story below, courtesy of RSA, that also includes the two of them chatting about their family-like relationship, the early Cash Money days, relocating to Miami from New Orleans, and much more!

Throwback Thursday: Scans Of Lil Wayne’s Cover Story For Ozone Magazine’s 2006 Issue

Scans Of Lil Wayne Cover Story For Ozone Magazine 2006 Issue

For #ThrowbackThursday today, I have decided to share scans from Lil Wayne‘s cover story for the February 2006 issue of Ozone magazine, which took place a few months after his Tha Carter II album had been released in stores.

In an interview with Julia Beverly for the mag, Weezy discussed everything from Hurricane Katrina (even though he was tired of talking about it), why he was not trying to be Jay-Z on his C2 album cover, wanting everyone to stop categorizing him, going to the University of Houston for Psychology classes, and deciding it was time to be a CEO.

What’s going on between you and B.G.? He put out a song dissing you, and I heard you were shouting “Fuck B.G.” at a recent show.
My album is in stores now, Tha Carter II, It’s my fifth solo album. It’s number two on the charts.

I’m sure everyone’s been asking you about your relationship with Trina. Are you open to talking about that?
No.

You’re trying to keep your relationship away from the public eye?
I ain’t tryin’. I am.

You can check out scans from Tunechi‘s cover story below that also includes him talking about touring with Jeezy and T.I., creating songs for different cities and sending them to DJs, his daughter Reginae Carter and why he would not let her be a rapper because he doesn’t think it is a good game for females, and much more!

Are Lil Wayne & Birdman Attempting To Squash Their Beef?

Lil Wayne & Birdman Attempting To Squash Their Beef

Yesterday, Birdman uploaded the photo above to Instagram with a caption reading: “4Life LFLS YMCMB“. With that caption, it seems like Baby is telling everyone Weezy will be his son for life, which is what he basically said throughout his interview with Angie Martinez too.

What’s interesting is that Mack Maine also uploaded a picture of Birdman and Tunechi together for “#ThrowbackThursday” on his Instagram page (see below). Do you think these are hints that Baby and Tune are wanting to make peace and squash their beef?

I wouldn’t normally make a post about something like this on LilWayneHQ as it could very well be a reach, but it has been a slow few days for Wayne news!

Lil Wayne & Birdman Hit With Copyright Suit

Lil Wayne & Birdman Hit With Copyright Suit

It just keeps getting worse for Lil Wayne 🙁 A man who did the skits on Birdman‘s and Weezy‘s “Like Father, Like Son” collaboration album has file a copyright infringement lawsuit against Baby and Weezy saying he was never paid and they used the tracks without his permission. Check out what Hollywood Reporter are saying below:

A Florida man wants rappers Lil Wayne and Birdman to show him respect — for using his voice on a song with that title.

Thomas Marasciullo filed a copyright infringement lawsuit Friday in a Manhattan federal court against the rappers, their record label and various music distribution outlets.

The lawsuit says Cash Money Records had him record some “Italian-styled” repartee in 2006. The suit says his work was used without pay or permission on “Respect” and other tracks from the rappers’ joint 2006 album “Like Father, Like Son” and Birdman‘s 2007 album “5 Star Stunna“.

A lawyer and representatives for the label didn’t immediately return messages.

The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages for Marasciullo, who lives in Florida’s Hernando County.
