DJ Folk Reveals Why Songs Like “Life Of. Mr Carter” & “Kidnap Cupid” Didn’t Make Lil Wayne’s “Tha Carter V” Album

DJ Folk Reveals Why Songs Like Life Of Mr Carter & Kidnap Cupid Didnt Make Lil Wayne Tha Carter V Album

Production coordinator DJ Folk wrote an article for DJ Booth after Lil Wayne‘s Tha Carter V album was released to talk about his work on the project, as well as how it felt seeing C5 on hold with the Wayne vs. Birdman lawsuit.

In the article, Folk revealed why some of the songs that we have heard snippets for, such as “Life Of Mr. Carter” (prod. P.C.), “Kidnap Cupid” (co-prod. Megaman and Zalezy), and “World On My Shoulders” (prod. BP) did not make Tha Carter V.

DJ Folk also mentioned that he sent Weezy the “Gotti” and “Hittas” beats, which were produced by Jayones, in the same e-mail back in late 2013, so he is glad that he is now a part of the album with A&Ring “Hittas“. You can read everything that Folk said below!

Birdman & Young Thug Plead For Gag Order In Lil Wayne Tour Bus Shooting Lawsuit

Birdman & Young Thug Plead For Gag Order In Lil Wayne Tour Bus Shooting Lawsuit

Both Birdman and Young Thug have asked a Cobb County State Court judge to issue a gag order in the lawsuit involving them with the Lil Wayne tour bus shooting in Atlanta back in 2015.

For those who are unaware, a gag order is a legal order by courts or governments that keeps information from being made public. Baby and Thugger want to silence Alvin Lewis, and stop him and his lawyer from speaking to the media about the case.

Lewis was the driver of Tunechi‘s tour bus on the night when it was shot up by Jimmy Carlton Winfrey aka Peewee Roscoe. He is currently suing Stunna, Thug, Peewee, Cash Money Records, and Young Money over the incident, and believes that the shooting was “gang-related.”

According to The Blast, the judge has yet to rule and the case is currently on hold. Right now, Roscoe is behind bars after being sentenced to 10 years in jail, but the lawsuit is about to reopened after new evidenced surfaced, which could expose Birdman and Young Thug for having something to do with trying to kill Weezy!

Lil Wayne’s Lawsuit Against Universal Music Group Has Been Put On Hold Due To The Birdman Case

Lil Wayne Lawsuit Against Universal Music Group Has Been Put On Hold Due To The Birdman Case

According to theJasmineBRAND, Lil Wayne‘s $20 million lawsuit against Universal Music Group has had to be put on hold until his case with Birdman and Cash Money Records has been resolved.

On July 29th, a Federal Court judge explained his reason behind this decision was because the 2 cases are very similar and the outcome of the Baby lawsuit will effect the Universal lawsuit.

The bad news is that Weezy‘s lawsuit against Cash Money could go on for another year even though he did reveal on “Like Dat” everything is looking good for him: “Everything’s lookin’ alright, yeah I just talked to my lawyer, it’s time to enjoy; Yeah Tune, it’s time to enjoy”.

If you missed the news back in March, Tunechi sued Universal Music Group because he believes they are repaying their own debts from the $100 million advance they gave to Cash Money instead of paying him what he is owed. He also claims that UMG are withholding royalties from both his music and his Young Money artists that he founded, such as Drake, Nicki Minaj and Tyga!

T-Pain Says Lil Wayne’s Jail Time Put T-Wayne Album On Hold x Watch T-Pain’s “Freaknik” TV Cartoon

“The T-Wayne album, we’re actually gonna wait until he gets out,” Pain said about Weezy‘s jail time. “He has so much going on. He has Rebirth out right now. I don’t wanna interrupt that. We just gonna wait until he gets out to really get in on that. We recorded a bunch of songs. But, right now, it’s time for him and his personal shit. We definitely got an album’s worth of material, but it’s only an album’s worth. It’s nothing to pick from. We just got an album. We can put out whatever we feel like and say, ‘Hey, this is T-Wayne‘s album,’ or we can actually try to make it good. Like we’re actually trying to make an album and say, ‘This is the good T-Wayne album.’ Rather than just record 12 songs and say, ‘Here you go, muthafuckas! I know you want it. You gonna buy it anyway, just ’cause you think it’s good.’ ”

“It happens, man,” the singer said. “People go to jail. That’s something he’s gotta go through. I’m happy it’s not fucking 10 years. That’s just something that’s going on. I know his commissary [prison store] is ridiculous. He’s got so much money in his commissary. You think Baby is gonna let him sit up in there and eat Doritos? Wayne got [his food] coming with steaks. … I know what’s going on there.

Young Money is still there also. He’s in the studio 24/7,” Pain added. “It’s gonna be like Tupac. You still gonna get 1,000 songs from Wayne. You ain’t gonna miss nothing. It’s gonna be like he never went to jail. I’m pretty sure they’re gonna put out a gang of songs. I’m pretty sure they’re gonna do a ‘Free Lil Wayne‘ campaign. That’s how it goes.”

Via MTV, and do y’all think T-Pain‘s comment is true when he said Birdman is gonna be making sure Weezy is being looked after ❓ Also, hit the jump to watch the full cartoon for T-Pain‘s “Freaknik The Musical” which features Lil Wayne.
