Q-Tip recently took part in an interview with Noisey and during their conversation, he had some nice words to say about Lil Wayne:

“I love Wayne. I think he’s a fucking beast. He’s an ill lyricist. He’s a prodigy. I love to do stuff with him. And that’s my boy, too. We talk sports and all of that shit. Yeah man, he’s acutely intelligent. Highly intelligent, skilled. He’s just got so much soul. I could go on and on about him. He’s one of my favorites, as an MC, as a visionary—like, he’s just dope. He’s just so dope. He’s fucking brilliant… he’s just a cool motherfucker, man. He really is. He’s a special guy. And I really love, like, Tha Block Is Hot, 500 Degreez, all that early stuff, too.”

The two of them have previously collaborated on “Renaissance Rap” and “Thank You“. What are your thoughts on Tip‘s praise for Weezy?

Andre 3000 was one of music artists that paid tribute to Phife Dawg at his memorial service, which took place at the Apollo Theater in New York City on Tuesday (April 5th) for 4 hours.

While at the funeral, Andre spoke on how Phife Dawg and A Tribe Called Quest influenced him and Big Boi to rap and create Outkast. He also went on to say how artists like Lil Wayne was then inspired by Outkast and then artists like Young Thug are being inspired by Wayne.

In an interview with Vlad TV, Rapsody spoke on why she thinks it’s “dope” that Lil Wayne is now a member of the Zulu Nation, as well as Wayne doing a lot of community work especially for the kids in his hometown New Orleans.

Yesterday, Q-Tip announced on Twitter that Lil Wayne is now a member of the Zulu Nation! The Zulu Nation is a global hip-hop awareness group that was formed by Afrika Bambaataa in the 1970s.
