STREETRUNNER Talks Being Sued Over Playing With Fire, Leaked Lil Wayne Songs, I Cant Feel My Face & More

Kyle Kramer from Noisey chopped it up with STREETRUNNER earlier this month to chat with him about releasing the remastered versions of leaked Lil Wayne songs from 2006-2007 and how he thinks they were leaked in the first place.

The producer also talked talked about getting sued for “Playing With Fire” that ended up in the track being removed from Tha Carter III, the first time he met Tunechi at The Hit Factory Criteria Recording Studios in Miami, if Tune has changed as a person over the years, and wanting to release a Greatest Hits album of all the leaked Wayne songs.

STREETRUNNER even discussed producing Lil Wayne and Juelz Santana‘s “1 Arm“, what he remembers about the I Can’t Feel My Face era, personally wanting to hear the project over Rebirth, his reaction to first hearing Weezy was going to record a rock album, and more!

T-Pain Hints At Releasing His & Lil Wayne T-Wayne Collaboration Album

T-Pain went on his social media pages last night to tease his and Lil Wayne‘s upcoming collaboration album, T-Wayne, which has been in the vault for around 8 years.

The Nappy Boy Entertainment founder revealed the alleged artwork for the joint project (see above) and wrote the following message:

“This ain’t for y’all new niggas. These the lost files from ’09 and I’m tired of em just sittin on my hard drive. #FreeC5”

What are your thoughts on the T-Wayne cover and do you think the album will drop soon? Maybe Pain could put it out how 2 Chainz released his and Tunechi‘s ColleGrove album by making Tune a feature on every song!

Jasmine Simpkins from HipHollywood recently sat down with Lil Wayne for a one on one interview about his “Gone ‘Til November: A Journal of Rikers Island” book that you can check out below.

During their conversation, Weezy discussed why he wrote the book in jail, not planning to release it, what he hopes people will get out of reading it, if he keeps in touch with any of the inmates and C.O.’s, the celebrity visits he got while locked up, and getting the news that Drake had sexual relations with one of his girlfriends.

Tunechi also revealed his “retirement tweets” last month was him meaning that he is not going to be rapping on a certain type of beat no more, he will always drop mixtapes for us fans, and his relationship with Birdman:

How are you with Baby, do you think you guys will have a friendship again?
I’m 34 baby, I’m too old for friends.

During their conversation, Weezy spoke on not worrying about reliving his time in jail as he hasn’t read “Gone ‘Til November” and he doesn’t plan to either, releasing the memoir for us fans as we are being patient for his new music, recording guest features, not knowing the new generation of rappers, and explained why he hasn’t been attracted to activism.

Tunechi also talked about the Black Lives Matter movement, what he cares about, Donald Trump, his upcoming Tha Carter V album, being in the studio a lot, his recording process, fellow music artists coming to his support after his retirement tweets, and his situation with Cash Money Records!

Next month on April 16th, it is Record Store Day and for that one day you will be able to purchase exclusive vinyl copies of Lil Wayne‘s Tha Carter and Tha Carter II albums.

If you didn’t already know, Record Store Day is a holiday for just one day every year to show appreciation for vinyl records. The organization behind it has revealed that their exclusive vinyl versions of C1 and C2 are both 2 LP sets with limited edition lenticular covers.
