Throwback Thursday: Scans Of Lil Wayne’s Cover Story For Ozone Magazine’s 2006 Issue

Scans Of Lil Wayne Cover Story For Ozone Magazine 2006 Issue

For #ThrowbackThursday today, I have decided to share scans from Lil Wayne‘s cover story for the February 2006 issue of Ozone magazine, which took place a few months after his Tha Carter II album had been released in stores.

In an interview with Julia Beverly for the mag, Weezy discussed everything from Hurricane Katrina (even though he was tired of talking about it), why he was not trying to be Jay-Z on his C2 album cover, wanting everyone to stop categorizing him, going to the University of Houston for Psychology classes, and deciding it was time to be a CEO.

What’s going on between you and B.G.? He put out a song dissing you, and I heard you were shouting “Fuck B.G.” at a recent show.
My album is in stores now, Tha Carter II, It’s my fifth solo album. It’s number two on the charts.

I’m sure everyone’s been asking you about your relationship with Trina. Are you open to talking about that?

You’re trying to keep your relationship away from the public eye?
I ain’t tryin’. I am.

You can check out scans from Tunechi‘s cover story below that also includes him talking about touring with Jeezy and T.I., creating songs for different cities and sending them to DJs, his daughter Reginae Carter and why he would not let her be a rapper because he doesn’t think it is a good game for females, and much more!

Nicki Minaj Higher Than A Kite Feat Lil Wayne

The “Feature Friday” edition for this week is a freestyle from Nicki Minaj called “Higher Than A Kite” featuring a verse from her Young Money boss Lil Wayne.

This Jerry Duplessis, Sedeck Jean and Lil Wonda-co-produced song is a recording over T.I. and Wyclef Jean’s “My Swag” for the Barbie‘s mixtape, Sucka Free, which was released back in 2008.

“I do what I does, I come through this bitch wrist bluer than ‘cuz’; I’m so 5 Star, soo woo to the Bloods; And before I had a mirror, I knew who I was”

You can watch a “Higher Than A Kite” music video that was directed by Jordan Tower below. Click here to watch a documentary that also shows Nicki and Wayne recording their verses for this track!

Lil Wayne Attends Lambeau Field To Watch Green Bay Packers vs Seattle Seahawks

Like he promised earlier this month, Lil Wayne attended the Green Bay Packers vs. Seattle Seahawks NFL game at Lambeau Field in Wisconsin yesterday (January 12th).

Weezy made a video in his VIP box about how this is the second time that he has ever been to Lambeau Field and how he wishes they would play his “Uproar” song instead of T.I. and JAY-Z’s “Bring ‘Em Out“.

You can check out a couple of videos after the jump below. Tunechi would have left the stadium happy as his team beat the Seahawks 28 by 23!

T.I. Puts Lil Wayne In His Top Lyricists List, Says He Has An “Incredible Skill Set” & Gives An Example [Video]

TI Puts Lil Wayne In His Top Lyricists List, Says He Has An Incredible Skill Set & Gives An Example

T.I. recently chopped it up with DJ Envy and Charlamagne Tha God on Power 105.1 FM’s “The Breakfast Club” radio show in New York City for an interview.

Around the 8:00 mark of their conversation after talking about his top rappers list, which you can watch below, Tip went on to discuss a top lyricist only list and mentioned Lil Wayne would appear in this to which Charlamagne disagreed.

The Atlanta rapper/actor then said Wayne has an “incredible skill set” and used his “safe sex is great sex, better wear a latex cause you don’t want that late text, that ‘I think I’m late’ text” bar from the “Lollipop” remix as a perfect example, as well as discussed how difficult it is to accomplish a triple entendre like this and apply it in music!

I have chosen the remix for Lloyd‘s “Get It Shawty” single featuring verses from Lil Wayne, Big Boi and Chamillionaire for this week’s “Feature Friday” installment.

The original version of this James “J. Lack” Lackey-produced song appears on Lloyd‘s Street Love album, which was released back in 2007.
